About $12K for the hardware including fixings, BUT $10.5K for the install seemed expensive. Is this a good deal, any experience with tradedepot? Below is unit price.

10kW Inverter, 20kWh Battery, 22 450W Solar Panels.

while trade depot is cheap, look at the reviews of after sales support and see if its still worth going with them

I believe that Trade Depot are not recognised by Deye NZ as being an authorised distributer of Deye products and as such will not recognise them for warranty purposes. So your warranty sits with Trade Depot.

Micromall are the authorised Deye importer and distributer.

Solar feels like one of those things where if even a minor element isn't installed properly, or equipment doesn't perform to spec, it could see your payback period/value proposition alter significantly.

I'd probably go with a specialist installer if it were me.

Do yourself a favor, get a company that will supply and install everything you need, that way any warrantee issues should be easy to sort. Keep in mind that any solar install needs be done by an electrician with a "solar" endorsement and also requires involvement of an electrical inspector and your power company to upgrade your metering.

$10.5K isn't unreasonable, there is a lot of work involved on putting solar panels up and I would assume the solar kit does not come with everything to mount to the roof as there would be a great variance in roof types and what is needed, this would also extend to the associated wiring between the solar panels and the inverter.

Thanks for all your responses. I have found https://www.micromall.co.nz/ and they seem to be more specialised and an all in one service with certifications etc

I have got some panels from trade depot to connect to something, and the delivery was cheap and they work fine. The device is being over panelled by the panels so I have no idea if they will hit their ratings, but the device is getting to its max off the panels just fine.

Once I have some area cleared and a pergola built then I will get some more of them as well as some mounts this time.
