I usually use an Xbone as my plex client, but it seems to have stopped working some time over the last week or so after working flawlessly for months - I tried on my old Xbox 360 and that too doesn't seem to be working. Just curious if anyone else is having issues with Plex on Xbox?

The issue on the Xbox One is that the busy circle just spins forever and on the Xbox 360 it says it can't connect to the plex server - but nothing has changed on either my server or home network - hence why I wonder if anyone else is having issues...

Nope, mine was working fine last night for me, and pretty sure one of the kids was watching stuff on Plex this morning via the XBox One.

Not running any VPN/DNS service anywhere that could be interfering ? Seen Plex throw tantrums over those before :)

Cool thanks. Yeah I'm running dns4me on the router it connects through - just wanted to check it was only me before diving into more detailed troubleshooting ;-)

Mine was working fine on Xbox One last night. Is your server local, or are you accessing the server over the Internet?

Local - but as I say there's a router inbetween all my AV\HT "stuff" setup to use dns4me for the dns - first step when I get home will be to bypass that and see :) As above, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't some wider issue before I start messing with it since it's worked fine for months.

Not really. When I got home the first thing I did was to bypass my "AV" router with my xbox 360 and it worked fine, so I thought it must be dns4me on that router causing the issue... but when I did the same with the Xbox One it still wouldn't work. I reconnected both back to the router with dns4me setup and now plex on the xbox 360 works fine but the xbox one till doesn't. I haven't had much time to look into it further; guess I'll need to find how to access plex logging on the xbox one if that's possible...

You could try removing the Xbox One from your Plex account and re-adding it (you could even try removing and reinstalling the Plex app on it). Not a very technical approach, but if the 360 is working it seems to point more at the Xbox One itself as the problem.

You could be having an issue with dns rebinding where your router or isp may be blocking rebinding from working.

But, you need rebinding working for plex clients, even on the same network. I had a similar issue in which my plex client could not see the server. It is because the plex client somehow expects an external internet address to resolve back to your local network (dns rebinding??).

As to why it suddenly started occurring? Maybe a router firmware update, or something your ISP did.

Fritzbox allows you to set exceptions as follows...

After I applied this setting, my local plex client started working with my local plex server.

Maybe you have a different issue, networks are complex beasts.
