Hi guys my media center was running erratic and it turned out my Nvidia 8500 GT fan had melted into the heatsink , any way to cut a long story short I have removed the video card and was going to use the onboard ATI card (which was disabled in bios) untill its fixed, now the promblem is the machine wont boot the on board video card and im getting the post boot long beep with 2 short beeps which means a video problem.

Anyone know how I get around this to get it to reboot up with the onboard video card ??

Cheers Hotdognz

Melted?!

Have you tried going into the bios and doing 'load optimal defaults' save and exit? You've removed the melted card right? Also have a look at your bios options for 'init display first' setting make sure its set to onboard. I dont think this is the problem 'tho.

Thanks for replying but I have it sorted out now, I had to pull the battery and reset the CMOS to get it to post with the onboard video.

And yes the fan was melted into the heat sink of the 8500GT I had in there.
