Hi

In our house (which we moved into more than three years ago) we have a couple of in-ceiling speakers. I managed to get the model number (Niles DS7MP) when I was up there putting a bucket under a leak.

What do I need to get these working? Wifey would be extremely pleased if I could do this.

The wires from the speakers appear to head back down and pop out behind the TV with a 3x2 wall plate.

I don't know anything about AV equipment. (I'm ok with computers though.)

Thanks!

How many are there in the ceiling?

But would need an AV receiver to connect the speaker cables to (how many speakers will determine the options).

You'll then be able to connect the receiver to the TV so the ceiling speakers can be used to play the TV audio. Will also be able to connect PC with an HDMI cable, etc

You can put a 1.5v battery across the speaker wires you have available to you in order to identify which speakers click when connected, this will help you work out if you have them individually connectable or if there may be something else out there splitting the feed to them.

Do you have any in wall controls that could be for them around the place?

If you just want music out of them, and there is no silly stuff like them all in parallel to one set of wires then you can just hook them up to a streaming capable amplifier like the wiim or arylic cheapies. Enough power for small speakers by far.

If its got lots of them wired together or you have in wall volume and switches for them then it will need more investigation.
