Has anyone taken a trip to their local JB Hi-Fi recently? Wondering if there is any new Arrow video releases being imported. Looking to order The Silence of the Lambs 4K but thought I'd check if there were any available locally first.

Also I'd love to get some 4K remasters of the Sean Connery films! Hope that one happens

I was at JB Wairau Park on Saturday and there were some new titles I didn't recall from Movieman's posts; I can't friggin remember them now though sorry. Definitely not Silence of the Lambs, I would've picked that up if it was.

Beyond the decent swag of Arrow titles early in the year, I haven’t noticed any new releases come through at JB in Palmy.
I gave up hope on it being a regular thing, and bought Heathers and Silence of the Lambs from UK. Haven’t watched Lambs yet but packaging is cool.

Was curious to see steelbook of Furiosa on the coming soon list still. Assume that’s a restock? I picked it up a couple weeks ago from local JB.

The Furiosa SteelBook on the Coming Soon list is actually a stand alone Black & Chrome version, which is a fancy way of saying Black & White 😁

From the Arrow UK site it came to $128 NZ including post for the two movies, and I think I had got a small discount for first-time purchase. Not a bargain, but both all-time fav movies, and the Lambs one was a special edition with a decent size booklet and other bits. So not dissimilar from what you may for a nice edition/steelbook here. And they only charge your credit card when titles ship, which is good.

I'm still hopeful JB stock Arrow's Wolf of Wall Street release at some point.

Thanks for the clarification re Furisosa chrome edition, Movieman. I remember a similar ''Noir'' edition for Logan, though that was simply a freebee with the blu ray back in the day.

Studio Canal (UK) have dated the upcoming 4K Blu-ray release of Carol Reed's classic film THE THIRD MAN (1949) 75th Anniversary Edition, which is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 4.

Amazon UK have it up for Pre-order.

STUDIOCANAL are delighted to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of one of the masterpieces of cinema, THE THIRD MAN. Following its September release in cinemas in beautifully restored 4K, the much-loved British classic will be available for the first time ever on 4K Blu-ray as part of Studio Canal's Vintage Classics Collection.

Holly Martins (Joseph Cotten), an American writer of pulp Westerns, arrives in a bombed-out, post-war Vienna at the invitation of his childhood friend Harry Lime (Orson Welles), only to find him recently dead. His suspicions are raised after learning of a 'third man' present at the time of Harry's death, and butting up against interference from British police officer Major Calloway (Trevor Howard) and falling head-over-heels for Harry's grief-stricken lover Anna (Alida Valli).

The atmospheric use of black and white expressionist cinematography and tilted-angled camerawork by Robert Krasker, for which he won an Oscar, combined with the iconic hit theme music by Anton Karas performed on the zither, memorably evoke the noir thriller atmosphere of THE THIRD MAN, voted by the British Film Institute as the greatest British film of all time. The encounter on the Ferris Wheel and the ensuing Cuckoo Clock speech has become one of the most famous scenes in cinema history.

THE TERMINATOR (1984) is getting a Standard Edition release in the US (November 5th), as well as the SteelBook mentioned in an earlier post #3275988

This is good news for AU/NZ collector's as I expect that we will also get the Standard Edition release. The SteelBook is unlikely to arrive on our shores, but I haven't written it off yet.

The Standard Edition disc will sit nicely in my old play.com UK SteelBook.
