Hi i don't believe their is any browser support yet for 4K.

So i've got a few 4K titles now, and have been switching between HDR and just my user-calibrated settings, and have to say I think I prefer my own calibration. HDR does certainly give more 'pop' with the colours, but it also gives it that 'advanced motion hz' appearance, which I believe was originally marketted as 'creating a smoother motion'.. personally I have never liked it and always switched off (if the TV had it) as soon as I bought a new TV.

I'll still test out future titles and their HDR option.. so far though Deadpool is the only one that I managed to sit through with it enabled completely..

With my Samsung SUHD I tried various settings but in the end left HDR on and the picture settings as setup by a TV installer imho looks stunning. My doesn't appear to give effect you say. What TV do you have ?

Mine is Samsung UA70KU6000SXNZ.

You might just be used to it from previous televisions, I know a few people who don't notice it because it's all they have known.

Yep, just over a thousand dollars as expected, and I guess with their hardware mod, should be another 200-300.

Looks like they have removed all their regular Oppo Blu-Ray players too.

Can I just ask why would anyone buy a standalone 4K Blu-ray player $1000 or even between $500-$1000 when you can get an Xbox One S for $450, which can play 4K Blu-ray and has the extra functionality of games and apps?

Not trying to stir a pot, I genuinely want to know if there's something I'm missing here.

For me, at the time, Xbox S didn't have bitstream capability (I think its still limited at the moment too?). It's also region locked to B for regular Blu-Rays.

Plus i've never been much of a gamer, so that extra bit was no use.

User interface for simply playing discs is far from ideal. It will probably want updates whenever you want to use it, it will also be more likly to go noisy over time as there is fans in them.

This for me. I've already had two updates as I've gone to play, although this would be defeated if I changed my Xbox settings. I should reprogram my universal remote so I have better controls too. But another thing to argue against it would be two different picture requirements between gaming and movies. If I had a standalone I wouldn't need to make any changes.

I will, but once the prices come down
