Mine froze tonight, first time since a few days before firmware update.  ie: several weeks problem free.

At 7pm - TV ONE & TV3 news recording and Close Up and Campbell Live recording (overlapping between them).  Stopped the TV3 news recording (had watched it), was going to watch the start of TV ONE, crashed as I was pushing the enter button on One News (the red remote signal light stayed on and so did the record light).  Left it for 5 mins, didn't recover.  Hit reset button on box.  One News said failed and I couldn't watch it and Close Up/Campbell Live started from the point the box restarted.

gedc: Its done it again...ALMOST identical to 7 days ago..... Can someone out there put 2+2 together to figure this out??

Recording Downsize me ...Finishes at 8.30

Planner set to record Mythbusters and also Untouchables - both starting at 8.30.

Pretty much bang on 8.30 the picture freezes - TV 1 on Sky  - and we can hear sound but nothing else works.

Reset the box and downsize me has failed but Mythbusters and Untouchables now recording okay...

Either its something to do with Prime, Mythbusters or the fact I'm watching TV1...

Any takers before I start speaking to someone at Sky which I really ain't looking forwards too given experiences with them to date....

Thx

What settings ie minutes before and minutes after are you using. Going on what you have written it is possible that you are trying to use four tuners. One more than you have available.
1 Watching TV1 (assuming that you are watching TV1 over Sky)
2 Recording Downsize Me with 5 minutes recording tacked onto the end.
3 Recording Mythbusters with recording starting five minutes before scheduled time.
4 Ditto for Untouchables.

I have had a couple of frezees under similar circumstances so now I take care to avoid overlapping recordings which seems to have sorted the problem.

Thanks for the reply folks...After my post I had a think and also agree its probably to do with overlapping programs...i.e end of one and start of other ( different tuners) is the same...

I'll need to check....Read the instruction book as well and I 'think' the box is meant to flag up a warning onscreen if there is a clash?

I'll go check again

Anyone else notice that you need to replace the batteries on the remote on a very regular basis?  Had my sky for two month and have changed the batteries twice - seem to go through 1 set a month which seems a bit much?

We had our first crash a week ago and it was exactly when an overlap occurred. My wife was watching a show that was currently being recorded (chase play about 15mins behind) and then two 8:30 shows kicked in to start recording when it crashed.  I think one was a TV3 HD and the other probably TVOne or 2.

No.  The batteries on the old mySky are lasting 4-6mths (or longer) and the new one so far 2.5 mths so too soon to tell

or sitting on it ;-)(this actually occurred to someone I know, they kept activating the buttons and when flat. Now I don;t know if modern remotes have protection from that)

Hrmm well after replacing the batteries three days ago - I just got the low battery warning again! definitely not accidentally activated as I have been putting the remot on the top of the box when not in use - I am using decent energizer batteries too

Might have to ring sky if it happens again anytime soon - it is going to be more expensive running the remote than running sky itself!

Recently as soon as a recording begins the My Sky becomes unresponsive to the remote, and when I press the buttons on the unit itself to change channels etc it does not respond until I reboot it pressing the red button. It is only happning within 2 minutes of a recording starting. I really have no idea whats going on.

Have only had MySkyHDi for a couple of weeks.  It is hooked up via HDMI to the plasma, via SCART-composite to CRT-TV and to the Panny HDD Recorder via SCART-SCART.
Apart from the previously discussed IR remote difficulties the unit has operated well.
However, the MySky stopped providing a picture to the HDD-Recorder (connected to VCR SCART).  I suspected it may be something to do with copy protection but it occurred on all Sky Channels.  Swapping to the TV SCART brought the picture back so it was only the VCR port that was affected.
I rebooted the MySky and viola! the VCR port provided a picture again.  Has anyone else had this happen?

Hi there,

I am a longtime reader, first time poster.  I have just bought a LCD tv and hooked it up to MySky HDi via HDMI.  However after a random period of time the picture and sound cut out and do not return.  If i switch to the composite AV connections the picture and sound return but of course not in HD.

From what i can gather from online research the HDCP connection is breaking down between MySky and my tv (Samsung 4 series).  Has anyone else encountered this?  "Up" time can range from 1 minute to 24 hours.

Any help would be much appreciated.....I would like to watch the AB's in HD this weekend without any problems :).
