RUKI: That is unfortunate but very common situation with kids playing and acidently throwing gaming console into the screen.
Kids - they rarely miss :-(
May I give an advice to parents:
a) - suggest kids using a strap - similar to those popular with old days mobile phones - so that when kids accidently loose the grip of a gaming pad - it will not fly into the screen
b) - if it has already happened - just PM me - I will thankfully collect broken TV from you - it is hard to discard rubbish that size and I am actually paying to get rid of it after I am taking few parts of interest from inside.
Cheers

Hanging the gaming TV above 1.5m avoids most of the risk with flying devices. Even with adults standing up they're far less likely to hit it than a TV sitting on a low console unit. Anything at 1m or so it is far too easy to hit even on a downward arc. I can see the highest mark on the wall here is at 1.3m.

For the time being I'm getting a cheap Panasonic LED as mentioned above (but the version down 400 on special for only $691).
The slightly more expensive 42" A410 is the same TV but has an IPS panel. An IPS panel has better colours and viewing angles but worse black levels (except on some expensive models). The AS700's higher price tag is because it should have a 100Hz panel and backlight blinking versus the 50Hz panel and 100Hz backlight blinking on the A400 and A410. Some people hate 100Hz panels but the "soap opera effect" should bother fewer people than it did in the past.
If you have Flybuys you can get the 42 A400 through that.
sidefx: We had a similar issue where my son (I think) managed to put 3 small chips (while they are small I'd say it took a fair bit of force with the corner of something hard, probably metal, to do) on the screen of my st50, so we moved it up onto the wall. I'd say it's about 1.5m up and while it seemed somewhat high at first it's been absolutely fine since, no neck strain or anything - you don't have to move your head much to look up a few degrees when sitting on the couch.
More importantly no more chips, cracks or grubby finger prints!

Before I attached my TV to the wall permanently I've done some research on ergonomics and what are the most comfortable view angles, distance (formula - TV size vs distnce etc)
Suggest that 1.5 m heigh is way too high and would not be comfortable for viewing - you may end up with the neck pain - similar to watching computer screen all day at work if it is way too high.

myopinion: Yes down lowish about 0.75 m. The plasma has a glass screen which doesn't help. Our other LCS is plastic and has had a few knocks but doesn't break as easily. For the time being I'm getting a cheap Panasonic LED as mentioned above (but the version down 400 on special for only $691). The insurance company may decide to fix the plasma but I doubt it.
