surfisup1000: the reason i bought is because they had the best combo of features/price/audio quality.

How long did it take to get you receiver fixed and back to you?
I also got my TX-NR515 around Jan 2013 and the HDMI is starting to go. It doesn't pick up the PS3 at all and the sound cuts out every 10 sec when using a Raspberry Pi.
It came from JB HiFi so sounds like they should be good about it. Hopefully doesn't take too long.
Dunnersfella: The Sony's are also reporting HDMI issues... hopefully you can find a deal that makes it worth it though.
Otherwise, consider an Yamaha or Denon perhaps?
Dunnersfella: Do you mean the RXV677?
It's a good amp - known to be one of the more reliable units out there.
It depends what you want out of your receiver of course... but if I'd had reliability issues, the first thing I'd look for in a replacement is an amp that keeps on working.
dolsen:
The receiver was away for 3-4 weeks to replace the pcb, however, there are still some issues I am experiencing.
In addition to the failure to acquire an ip address via dhcp (manually entered address works fine), twice there has been a loss of audio over HDMI. When this happens, the loss is audio is on at least 2 of the hdmi inputs, however, fm audio still works. Changing hdmi inputs does not fix the issue, and, there is a PCM icon displayed regardless of audio format sent to the receiver. Turning the receiver off and on via the remote does not resolve the issue, however, switching the receiver off at the wall and then turning it back on does fix the issue.
