That 700 looks amazing at the price, but it's massive. Nearly 40cm bigger than the 600.  Not really compact or easily transportable.

soundbars ain’t designed to be portable.

if I read your requirements properly, you are wanting to take it to the beach etc?
(Or did you mean plug it in at a holiday home)?

I just purchased this a couple of weeks ago and happy with it

Buy the Samsung HW-S61B 5.0 Channel Soundbar -- 7 Speakers Dolby Atmos/DTS:X /... ( HW-S61B/XY ) online - PBTech.co.nz

Currently using it on a sony 4 year old tv and works well, would work better if the tv was samsung released over the last couple of years

I replaced bookshelf speakers with the JBL bar 2.0 and have been very happy with it. Doesn’t have a sub but the bass is punchy enough. It’s small enough to sit under my TV and very portable. If you live near a large Noel Leeming they usually have these and others on display. Hearing it in store was what convinced me.

Yeah, this is probably a fringe case for soundbars, but yeah, it will spend most of it's time in our master bedroom under the TV, but if we go away to the beach for a week, want to be able to conveniently take it with me, and something 600mm long is much easier than something 1000mm long. :)

Would the JBL Bar 300 be worth the upgrade over the JBL Bar 2.0 and would the JBL Bar 300 be a better choice over the Sonos Beam?

Hmm, maybe I could ask another way -

Do you think the JBL Bar 300 is good sound and good value or are there better (similar mid/entry) alternatives using a bar only.
