Gemini: thanks for the info.
Any idea how the 42U20 LCD would compare to a Sony EX500 (also Full HD 100Hz).
A 42U20 with a new DMR-BW880 blu-ray recorder would be a pretty sweet combo I reckon!

I only briefly glanced at the LCDs at the launch as I'm very much a plasma man but if they're anything like last years I'd go for the sony all the way.
samwooff: There is the DMR-BW850 which is a blu ray recorder with twin freeview tuners, this is probably very similar to the one released last year.
There are also two standard DVD recorders with 250gb or 320gb HDD but no freeview.
samwooff: The models you're interested in were meant to be in store mid may but I've not seen any in my store nor heard of anyone that has them yet.
The 42" U20 looks to be at least the equal of a g10 from me viewing our store display model. The v20 I saw at the panasonic launch although unfortunately stuck in dynamic mode may have had even better blacks from memory.
From the controversy surrounding the 2009 range I'd wait til the new ones come out. I'd expect pricing to be very similar to last years prices initially so 4,000 for the v20 and about 2500 for the u20.
Hope that helps.
