Not sure how you'll go with sky on a mac. Is anyone doing this? Also to those looking at devices with CI slot and using hardware CAMs - don't bother, do it in software, use a smartcard reader, I use a omnikey (about $20NZD delivered from ebay). Running in MediaPortal for about 3 months now without any issues.

TV server has quad a TBS 6984 Quad DVB-S2 (review at my blog). 4 LNB outputs from Sky dish connected. 3xDVB-T for freeview HD.

Thanks Mcraenz

Nice setup not sure i need 4 tuners but maybe should just buy one of their dual tuners?? Thoughts

I have two mysky decoders and a dual lbn. So there is a splitter and combiner somewhere not sure where will have to look what is best way to get control of this ie separate cables to htpc location?

I want to ba able to inset card for recording and then switch back to sky for watching is that how it is done? or i guess can just use mepo for viewing too.

I use Mepo  and have 3 freeview tuners now. Just setting this up since the downloads are no longer really an option figured I would just record everything locally for viewing.

I don't think I really need 4 sat tuners but two would probably be good enough.

I mostly record tv shows and push them out to three htpc's...all media stored on 8TB unraid server along with my movie and music collection.

What do you use for guide scrapping EPG grabber and xmltv plugin in mepo?

Thanks

The idea is to not use the Sky dec at all. My TV's are just big monitors, MP for EVERYTHING. Guide data just comes down from satellite, no need to mess around with xmltv or scraping. The TBS cards are great. The dual card would be a good option too.

Yes it should.. i have a Infinity USB Phoenix which worked a couple of years ago which is basically the same.

This is similar on how I got it work.. but you use sasc-ng to create a dummy video device under linux which talks to rdgd which then talks to the card.

Then you use use this dummy video device under mythtv and it works (after a few hours of trying to get it to work)

There is a small write up at http://www.omcentre.com.au/index.php?id=102&type=0 which explains a little.

Thanks

Where's the best place to get info on how to set this up?
Is XBMC pvr now working with MP TVServer?

Would be great if it is as then I would just go out and buy a couple of AppleTV 2s and get XBMC on them, if that will work???
