I got my PSBs in Australia from a place Denis White.  They are on the web.  Cost was $379 which was cheapest I could find them anywhere (incl States even before shipping).  I did buy them there rather than shipping here which meant I also got GST back (but makes my answer slightly less helpful).
A quick google suggests either Paul Money or AV world in Akl stock them.

Thanks for your reply.

Which model did you get?

Looks like the NZ$ is doing well against the Aussie, might have to have a look when I go over at xmas.

I got the M4U-2 which are the noise cancelling versions to make them more useful for travel.  I got the black (as the white made me look like a half naked storm trooper).

I'd recommend not buying them from AV World, they're not to be trusted.

Morning guys.

I just tried my Sony MDR10RBT with a wire and it worked fine. Still my phone can see the headphones via Bluetooth and my Laptop will see but wont pair. Should I just take them back to NL? Seems like the most logical thing to do now.

I just have a feeling I am doing something wrong, because this is my second pair of Bluetooth headphones and both haven't worked how they should. Maybe I am just not meant to own any headphones...

Did you try the NFC pairing method?

Take it there, they will either get it going or replace it. Either way the problem will be resolved. Make sure they pair them for you there. Plenty of available people to assist.

Cheers mate. Must of missed your post on the past two or so pages when you suggested it. Just paired via NFC with my phone and it worked. Now to work out how to pair with my Laptop.

Thank you very much for the help, at least that's 50% of the problem fixed :). I Have +1 your post.

Just an update in my quest to find a decent pair of bluetooth headphones. I recently said that the Sony MDR1 Bluetooth were at 50% off. Apparently this was some sort of error - I went in store hoping to purchase them but the staff member said that the MDR1 regular version (non-bluetooth) are the ones for 50% off!

I looked closely at the exact model numbers that were stated at 50% off and saw that it said MDR1RBMK2 for 50% off (which one would assume is the bluetooth version). Turns out - the models that they have in store are:

MDR1RMK2 - regular
MDR1RBTMK2 - bluetooth
MDR1RNCMK2 - noise cancelling

If you noticed, the 50% off doesnt apply to any one of them!! I raised this with the sales person and he said yea its a typo and 50% off applies to the regular ones. I said well, in that case I dont think I will be making the purchase today since the only reason I came in was for the 50% off on the bluetooth ones. I said I will wait for the 50% off sale (which another salesperson said they had a couple of months ago) and then come back.

The hunt continues.. IN the meantime, I really am liking the Jabra Revo Wireless - looks quite cool and from what I have heard, they produce decent sounds as well.

Hmm I got this today :

Nearly four years of design and research headed by John Swenson has brought us to the release of this very special Digital to Analog Converter, the Bottlehead DAC.
For those of you who just need the highlights, here are the bullet points-

• 32 bits, up to 384kHz USB, 192kHz S/PDIF
• USB, coax digital, TOSLINK inputs
• Approx 2V output via RCA jacks
• State of the art digital filtering

For lots more details, here's a link:
http://bottlehead.com/smf/index.php?topic=6898.0

TL;DR : $1550 USD for a DAC with pretty good pedigree. A little out of my league, but in case any others were interested.

It's not a kit.

I have had a set of Sennheiser HD25'S for around 8 years. Initially they were for dj use but now days more for gaming and movies and they are still going strong, awesome sound.

Got these nice vintage headphones not long ago. Was my favorite headphones when I worked in radio:

Sennheiser HD-250 Linear II.

Only problem now is that I need a good headphone amplifier to really get the juice out of them, one that can connect to USB 2 or 3. Anyone got good suggestions?

Ah, but I want something to use with my computer and that has its own D/A converter (hence the USB 2/3 part)

Edit: Oh, I see it can be connected via USB. Does it plug in for power (other than via USB) to run it constantly as a computer/headphone amp?
