livisun: anybody? do I need increase my budget?

I recommend you increase your budget $30 and take my barely used UE900 off me :)

You won't do better than that at that money.

I have the Shure 425, Sony XBA-H1 and the Sennheiser CX300-II. For acoustics, the Shure sounds great. The others feel like they have too much base. My latest toy is not an IEM though. The Shure SRH1840 is on a completely different level

Shipping via courier would be $5.

Just for the heck of it, I picked up a pair of UE4000 headphones from the local Noel Leeming store today. Only because they were $67. Will take them and my PXC-250-II when we travel in a couple of weeks to see how they go.

Some surprising news from Computer Lounge today. Billy is no longer with the team!

Gutted...

His knowledge and assistance will be missed indeed. Cheers Billy! Good luck with the future and your new endeavour. Thanks for your help! Most appreciated.

I heard a little while ago, sad for us, but pretty exciting new venture for Billy.

Received a pair of harman/kardon Soho earphones here this week. Nicely done in leather and aluminium, good sound but nothing extraordinary. It's small so it won't filter external noises as much as a cheaper Philips cup earphones. Cord mic works on Android but not the remote controls (iOS only). AT $349 is on the high price side of the things...

networkn: Whomever was interested in the AKG...

I doubt I will ever again touch a pair of AKGs. I used to be the CTO of a radio station that went through headphones like crazy, so part of my job was to solder the broken connections on the headsets. I have soldered my fair share of AKG 240s I can tell you. Was never impressed with the sound of them, but they were a lot easier to repair than my favourite studio headphones (Sennheiser HD-250 II).

They look the part, but unless they can trump the NAD HP50 on sound I don't think I'd be keen. The cord remote on the HP50 are more geared for iProducts as well, but pause/play/answer/hangup works fine. One day I'll sort out a cable with android-friendly remote.

I'm quite keen to get my hands on a pair of NAD HP50's for a week or so, but not keen to buy them unless I had a buyer of a week old pair for a reasonable resale value.

Well, I went and got the T5p again. I loved the NAD HP50, I think still the headphone to beat for SQ in it's market segment, but ultimately I missed the extra resolution of the T5p. That's the second time I've repurchased a headphone, the other being my HE-6 which beat out all-comers to become my desktop transducer of choice.

Thinking of trying the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0, because apparently I can't help myself when it comes to headphones. A number of improvements made to the older ones - larger and deeper cups with memory foam for a better fit and seal, fixed the rolled-off treble response and also tightened up the bass, all of which sounds pretty good. The only substantial opinion I have seen so far rated it better than the HP50, which that person also rated very highly (number one in fact, until they heard the updated Senn's). Wondering if anyone here has the original over-ears? Would love to borrow them for comparison. Ditto the HP50 so that I can directly compare.
