Oh ok. Dunno.
Well the TV turned up yesterday, but I soon discovered it has a manufacturing defect. There are a couple of metal castings in the base that the feet mount to. Each has a hole to match a pin on the foot, but on one of them the whole is not completely punched out, so the foot does not properly fit and align into the base. That's a PITA, I'll have to ring them up and get them to send the delivery guys to take it back and bring me a new one. Poor Q.A..
I also ordered a basic soundbar which for now I've connected to the Sky decoder with an optical cable. This isn't how I expect it to work eventually, which will be to the new TV HDMI ARC or Optical. I've found this connection doesn't quite work. For channels 1-4 (TV1, TV2, TV3, Prime), the audio is still coming from the TV speakers. As soon as I go to any channel from 5 upwards, the audio comes from the sound bar. Why is that? Something to do with the audio encoding from the broadcast?
Cheers
John
... they really are good with their returns. Rang them up and they quite happily scheduled the delivery man to come collect it, BUT... they are out of stock already so delay on replacement.
I shouldn't laugh but what can i say, i know the feeling :P
My replacement tv was faultless and tbh I think it is performing better now then when i took it out of the box, not sure if there is some form of burn in required but the picture is a lot richer & more natural now than out of the box

Go on, laugh, I don't mind!
It wouldn't matter if I was wall mounting, and I could easily drill out the offending non-hole, but don't want to void the warranty or clumsily mar it.
I just hope there's not a long delay getting the replacement.
What are you doing for sound? Have you used the HDMI ARC audio or digital audio out?

I had an issue with an item from The Warehouse in Jan last year. I sent in photos and said 'I'm prepared to keep it for a discount' and they agreed on a $ amount in The Warehouse vouchers. You may still have that option if it happened to be a way you would like to handle the issue.

Not following you on the first question. The second question is no; it's a dumb tv. I'm going to run mysky hdi and a roku into it so don't need the smarts.

Maybe the answer is yes - the specs say it is XBox One S and PS4 Pro compatible, and the main feature of these being UHD and HDCP 2

My replacement took 5 or 6 days from memory
I'm running HTPC and chromecast into tv via HDMI and outputting all audio via toslink into AVR, works well

@Wade
Do you know if it is passing through 5.1 via optical?
eg. HDMI (5.1 audio) -> TV -> Optical -> AVR (still 5.1?)
Also, would you mind measuring the distance between the stands?
Would like to see if they would fit on my current cabinet.
Yes can confirm 5.1 audio from both freeview and chromecast
Will measure tonight
can anyone confirm 4k bluray playback on this from a xbox one s?
Apparently it's good:

But... why bother with physically handling UHD bluray discs if you can stream the movie on your unlimited fibre broadband?
I know the xbox one s is a good 4k bluray player.... I want to know if the veon 65" 4k works with it, if it has the correct standard for playback.
