One thing to remember is that Samsung Display's QD-OLED panels are a 1st gen panel vs. LG Display's more mature panels. TBH if you haven't had an OLED tv before, you won't be disappointed by either; the other QOL stuff might give you cause though and the LG wins out there.

Personally I'm excited for QD-OLED as a technology and look forward to it baking a little bit longer. If I was specifically going to be buying a QD-OLED TV today though, I'd only be looking at Sony's A95K as it removes a lot of the downsides IMO: Android TV, Dolby Vision support, picture processing is superior IMO. I don't mind giving Samsung Display my money but I refuse to give Samsung Electronics any more.

The a95k is definitely a beautiful tv, but at ~$6k I don't think it's worth the extra $2.5k over the S95B. Also, if you're going to be using the tv for gaming, I'd say the s95b is superior in that regard.

I agree with your sentiments! And to that end pulled the trigger on the LG c2 65 inch $3508 from Noel leeming (price matched “the market” additional 10% off)

Did Noel Leeming agree to pricematch the price on The Market, including the extra 10% off, or did you buy from Noel Leeming through The Market?

Anyone know when 2023 TVs are usually released in NZ? Looking at upgrading from a 2011 Plasma.

May to July... Unless there is something on a 23 model you need specifically, you'd be much better off financially to pickup a current LG C2, Pana LZ980/1000 or Samsung S95B. Or higher spec models of course

The Sony A95K is my one to "watch"...

... for the right price, ofc

It combines the superior colour gamut + volume and highlights of QD-OLED panels with Sony's tuning/processing, Android TV, Dolby Vision, and generally not being a Samsung Electronics device

Unless Panasonic comes out with a NZx000 range with QD-OLED panels...

My TV is now in my lounge, still in a box though but I am very much looking forward to finishing work and getting home and unpacking it. Then starting the assembly of the new cabionet I purchased for it

Just for interests sake, dived into the service menu of my GZ1000 last night. 4304 hours on the panel & had its 4th panel maintenance a few weeks back. Averages out to around 4.4 hours per day of TV on time which was quite surprising for me.

Anyways ran through some 50% to 5% gray uniformity picture test's to check any banding or shading. Looks as good as when I ran the tests on Day 1. Really happy with the Panasonic OLED GZ and would happily buy another in the future.
