I don't know about the rest of the collector's on this thread, but I can't help noticing that JBNZ are really starting to drop the ball lately. Yes, I know that Physical Media is in decline, but that doesn't mean that they should operate their website so poorly. Several already released titles still haven't had their artwork updated and titles keep getting pushed back, sometimes twice. NZ was usually a bit behind Australia when it came to release dates, but now we can be up to a month or even more behind our Aussie counterparts. How can we support our local sellers when they don't support us?

Also their 20% off sales are becoming  a bit meh; Let's have some 25% to 30% off sales, Buy 2 Get 1 Free and maybe once a year a Buy 1 Get 1 Free 24 hour sale. Something to relieve the boredom of the same old, same old.

On a brighter note; My JBAU and EzyDVD Easter orders arrived today and all orders were well packed in sturdy cardboard boxes. So, come on JBNZ; Up your game!

Well if they copied / acquired the JB AU website maybe they could do the same for sales...and stock...and release dates.

Also, my JBAU stuff (well some of it) is 'with courier' apparently...

...though I guess JBAU has a bit more competition over there to keep them on their toes.

Warner Bros. DUNE: Part Two (2024) has now been officially announced for the US. The artwork has also been revealed and I expect it to be the same for the Australian release which should be late May.

Have been thinking exactly the same lately. Starting to give up on JBNZ and ordering on either EzyDvd or JBAU whom seem to put a bit more effort in. Unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped out the physical media game and we'll have to import from AU anyway.

I would also put it down to physical media fade out (and all eggs in the vinyl basket) if it weren't for the actually quite impressive back catalogue range of titles  at the Palmy JB. Most of these are blu ray, but the 4k selection is still better than Wellington, even though the 4k new release stand hasn't changed in weeks.

To be persevering with so many cult blu ray titles from Arrow, Imprint, Criterion and Umbrella, there must still be some love in the curation. I wonder how much of it is unreliable info from suppliers and delays with classification office. There's a JB Hi-Fi person in a blu ray/4k facebook group who gives the odd nugget of into that suggests they're at the mercy of folks further up the chain.

I picked up The Holdovers on blu ray this week - looking forward to watching it on the weekend.

I had a quick check on the JB NZ invoices I keep for all my online purchases.  It looks like there were two buy 2 get 1 free offers in 2022 (August and November) and there were two last year in May and August (my orders were on May 6th and August 17). I'm pretty sure it was on selected titles only.

I was also surprised to see an Arrow Import 12 Monkeys available online at JB NZ. Perhaps it is a title that hasn't sold well instore?

Yeah, some nice ideas there. I get the feeling we're an afterthought for JBAU, we'll get the leftovers. You can see it in the number of titles available in 4K in both countries; Australia has 3x more. Better than nothing though, and they seem to stock the blockbusters.

WONKA (2023) SteelBook Edition has gone from the JBNZ website. Which I expect will be either of the following three scenarios:

1 - It has sold out at the Pre-order stage.

2 - A decision has been made not to stock it.

3 - It will magically re-appear.

Who knows with JBNZ these days?

EzyDVD have a surprising 4K listing just appeared on their website. Surprising because Paramount have released several catalogue titles in SteelBook format over the last few months in the US, none of which have been released in Australia. Let's hope that this is a sign of things to come. It's a 1-Disc release.

THE CROW (1994) Paramount Pictures SteelBook Edition. • [$AU57.97] • June 26th.

Here is the artwork for the US release, which I am 99.9% certain will be the same for Australia. We may not get the Slip Cover, but here's hoping.
