Had issues with mine freezing and randomly restarting - removed the SD card i was using as "internal" storage - and that seems to have fixed it....but my SPMC database is large at 4GB and has used pretty much all of my internal storage - thereby limiting apps I can install.

So...has anyone had any success with using an SD card as internal storage? I am hoping the answer is yes and my issues were due to a crap SD card...

I was a little disappointed with the MiBox at first and was having some issues with it (comparing kodi addon perf of computer vs mibox where the mibox was a stuttering piece of poo).  Sideloading speedtest showed acceptable perf but when looking at router speeds of the computer streaming the same source, the MiBox was hardly doing anything for some reason.

Having bolstered the WiFi at home (AC access point in the room where the MiBox is - was having some wifi issues for other devices so rather than a USB ethernet adaptor this was a fix for multiple fronts) + stumbling on SPMC and also how to use advancedsettings.xml, the MiBox has turned into something fabulous.

Being able to use voice search within SPMC with the MiBox remote is super convenient.

Hopefully refresh rate switching can be fixed with the next update!

i have a few issues

the home button on the remote doesnt seem to work anymore, and I have to manually exit apps (this might just be in netflix, cant remember).   netflix on one of my ones doesnt work at all, i get kicked out of streams after about 30 seconds.  tried everything to get that to work, called netflix support, spent about an hour on the phone with them and they couldnt figure it out either.

Be careful what apps/permissions you turn off ...

I turned off several apps that didn't seem to be doing anything for me and did the same for quite a few permissions.

Then Lightbox (via cast) and Netflix stopped working for me.

I had to turn back on Google Services and the Contacts Storage and Sync apps and reactivate contacts permissions to get Netflix working.

I still haven't got Lightbox working via cast again, but that may be separate issue as I've had a lot of videos fail to launch since the last update.

Are others having issues with HDHomerun and using either the HDHomerun app or the Google Live Channels one?  I have the MiBox connected via HDMI to the TV (rather than via an amp).

Viewing is extremely choppy and I don't think I've managed to get sound working at all. Haven't tried the SPMC/Kodi addon of HDHomerun - will give that a shot next time I get a chance to fiddle.

im having various issues with these devices.  on one tv when i turn the tv off then on again later, the mibox doesnt always come back (sometimes comes back after numerous button presses on remote) and i have to unplug the mibox from the power.   one mibox netflix doesnt work at all, kicks me out of the stream after about 20seconds.  one mibox the "home" button no longer works.

so yeah, what i thought was a great cheap android tv device turned out to be a buggy cheap android tv device.    im thinking about getting some nvidia shield tvs....

Same problem here with an amlogic x96 device. Only fix I found was a device factory reset. Netflix support could "not identify" the device & offered no help besides the generic advice that they have on their web site.

I've found that the remote goes to sleep.  So ... one press of power button to wake remote.  Second press to wake the TV box.

I am having problems streaming Lightbox from phone to MiBox 4K.

The casting initiates and the episode footer loads but the video never commences playback.

This follows me un-installing a few apps and changing some settings embarassed

Does anyone know what permissions/apps/utilities have to be turned on to allow casting of Lightbox to Google TV?

I only briefly used mine and found that it was just too laggy after a while, and the remotes response was terrible at most times with it queueing commands up and then all going thru after 4-5 seconds. Nice looking box but clearly a long way to go for the software on it.

There was a software update that came out soon after release that fixed UI laggyness. If you only used it briefly I wonder if you may have not been prompted to install the update.

I have finally managed to get acceptable Live TV performance from mine, so I have relocated it to the bedroom and moved my NVidia Shield to the Living Room. I can say without a doubt the Shield is worth spending the extra money on, I will probably end up replacing the Mibox with one down the road.

I am tossing up between this, a fire tv or a cheap android tv box. Does anyone know whether this box 'úses' Google DNS similar to the Chromecast? My 2 favourite tv apps for no longer work using the Chromecast but work on the tablet without casting. I have this issue with multiple geo unblocking services.

Saw an update for the hdhomerun app that came through today. Now the mibox works great with the stock live tv tuner as well as with the hdhomerun app.

Things are getting better!

If Xiaomi could sort out refresh rate switching, this will probably fully replace my htpc (it's being used 70% of the time now for plex/ spmc/ YouTube)
