Installed the PS3 adapter, wow, that was all too easy. Interesting note: PS3 allows only 1 remote, so if you have an existing remote it will be deregistered in favour of the Logitech adapter.

Anyone want to buy a PS3 remote?

Yeah I mentioned that when you asked me!!!

However it doesn't deregister the PS3 Bluetooth Remote, but merely the PS3 Remote has device ID slot 7, and the Bluetooth and Harmony for PS3 are such device and hence only one of this type can be registered with PS3.

Ok, finally arrived at a solution. I was speaking with a tv install guy yesterday and he said that he had the same issue and it was all to do with the Sony Bravia Tv's. So i have a couple of solutions to make life easier in the interim.

1. created a sequence, to start up on inputvideo3 and inputnext 3 times, to get to hdmi1. (still a bit flakey, works sometimes)
or
2. programmed the misc blue button with the inputnext comd, and use it to bring up the input menu and toggle to the correct input as i had to do on the original remote

Still not a one button solution but workable, so that i only have to have 1 remote.

More happier with the remote now :-)

My only thing is that if i wasn't technologically minded then how would joe public get on with this kind of gagdet

I'm surprised your Bravia doesn't have discrete input codes. How old is it?

OK, I decided not to be lazy and tried adding that TV to my profile. Did you add KLV-46D300A? You wrote KVL but I'm sure you meant KLV.

Go to settings, adjust inputs, it should be set to Method 2 (that means discrete input codes). Next is the list of inputs, I'm not sure the order matters in your case, because youll be directly selecting the required input. Next is the mapping of inputs to buttons., mine came up as expected. The rest is unrelated to input selection.

The only issue now is that the mapping may not be correct. So, on your remote go to Devices -> TV (or whatever) and test all the InputXXX buttons (they'll be in the mutliple pages of additional buttons at the top). So test if InputHDMI1 changes the input to HDMI1 and so on. Take a not if of the mapping and check that this matches what was in the input settings for that TV.

You shouldn't need to use InputNext or the like. I don't have that TV so I can't actually test if those discrete codes work.

You could try running the wizard again for the TV and tell it that your TV has discrete input signals. I did this for the Samsung and it worked even though the original Samsung remote only has a single source selection button.

I have a Toshiba TV and the "wizard" never even asked that question (or showed that page I saw earlier in the thread that has a bunch of TV input options).

Ok, maybe it's not in the wizard - sorry about that. Anyway, here's how: When you open the Logitech software, click the "Devices" tab, and then click the "Settings" button next to the TV. Select "Adjust inputs", then click "Next". Then select "Method 2" and click "Next". Then review the input types you have. etc. Hopefully this will work for your TV too.

In the first link above, you'll find a link to http://members.harmonyremote.com/EasyZapper/New/Main.asp and click "Next" then follow on to create a new account...

In the past, you can create an account without having a remote, and you can determine your devices and configure it "virtually".

In the past you don't have the issue of one login to one remote, you can have one login with multiple Harmony remotes to manage from. Now, you need one login for each Harmony remote. So be prepared if you are going get multiple Harmony remotes (like myself, currently having 2x).

Hi, yep, been thru all that, even when using the devices, the soft buttons went to all the inputs expect the hdmi ones. Tried the descrete codes but they cannot be correct even though they are listed. Happy with my solution so far but still logitech should sort it out with sony..

Finally heard back from Logitech Teir2 Spt, and they have fixed the problem, so my tv starts up on the correct hdmi inputs. Happy Man.
