I have been considering these for a while. I really like my Bose QC35's but on a recent set of long haul flights I found I had sore and sweaty ears after 3 hours of wearing them. I am wondering if they are better for that?

Can't speak for the Bose headphones, but while I ws down in Christchurch a month or so ago, I took the time to go for a walk round the city (first time there in 20 years). I wore the headphones from about 10am to about 5 or 6pm with only brief breaks and I didn't notice any discomfort or irritation, and this was walking around on a relatively sunny day. Battery life can't be faulted and just kept on going the whole time (with bluetooth and NC activated).

I think they - for me - were about on par comfort and heat wise!

I have had my Sony Bluetooth ones for a little while now and love them, Very comfortable and light. I am no audiophile but the sound to me is great and the noise cancelling must be working pretty good as I can't hear the missus when I am wearing them (Well that's what I tell her anway).

Got mine from Noel Leemings on a special down to $199 which for me is a lot to pay for a set of headphones.

Damn! at that and with my $200 gift card...

How do you hear about the JB sales? My fiancé used to hear about then through St John but she is in maternity leave at the moment :(

@dickytim it was an email from JB Hi-Fi that alerted me to the sale. Sign up to their email list and you'll no doubt get them too. I believe (but don't quote me) that armed services personnel and medical staff may get that discount normally. Wouldn't hurt to call them and find out.

Did not think it was to bad for $200US when Noels etc has them for $500

Green/blue and grey are $200 US the other colours get right up there with $350US

Ok, so i have a pair of Brainwavz blu-100 or 200 dont know, cant remember!

Anyway these were purchased for the gym, but as i am getting more active with my workouts, boxing etc. i am finding these don't hold as well as I'd like, also the sound is slightly above average... just

I am looking to replace these, $200 is the budget and need to be stocked at JB hifi.

I am leaning towards Beatsx as they meet my criteria and seem to review well, airpods may be an option, but iworry (see what i did there) that they may fall out like my current pair do, also having to use siri to change tracks etc seems a bit naf.

Anyone tried the beatsx, airpods or any other workout centered inear headphones?

Looking for opinions and personal experiences, not just "all beats are too bassy"

So i bit the bullet and went for the BeatsX. So far i am happy with the sound and fit. The volume is limited but that isn't necessarily a bad thing!

Compared the the Brainwavs they are a lot less tinny and more accurate, i have the large wing tips on and medium tip in one ear and large in the other, the small tips made them sound terrible!

I like the 45 min to fully charged, the fast charge won't matter as they will pretty much stay on charge in my car when not in use.

Noise isolation is great, i have them on full sitting next to the Mrs and she has no idea what i am listening to!

Even on lower volumes I don't hear any outside noise.

It is unfortunate, but understandable that you can't audition in-ear headphones as i'd love a comparison between these, powerbeats3 and airpods.

We also went to JB who gave my partner the emergency services discount so $190 which is a decent discount as the cheapest i have seen them online in NZ is $219 and that had a large lead time.

Tomorrow they get the acid test at the gym but jumping around like an idiot seems to suggest they should be secure.

The WH-1000XM2s are going to launch US$50 under previous list price of the outgoing MDRs, and I see Amazon has already discounted the MDRs by U$100.

So, I think it's a yes, we should see the price drop.

I like the sound of the WH1000s. One thing that put me off the MDR1000s were the reviews that said the touch controls could be a bit hit or miss. Reviews for the WH1000s say these have been improved.

I didn't think it worth starting a new topic, but can anyone suggest a solution to this? My nephew keeps destroying headphones. Mainly from pulling on the cord and tearing around wearing them.

I went to Jaycar and bought the 3.5mm right angle adaptor however the sound is awful, I figured he could pull on that and it might save the cable (which is not replaceable).

Surely there must be something? Most of my headphones have the 90 degree plug, so I was thinking of an adaptor that could do the job?

I know Best Buy dropped the MDR-1000Xs to USD$229 for a day last month - Amazon price-matched, meaning it was NZD$346 delivered. I wouldn't expect them to go lower than that though.
