I like this guys real world reviews and these headphones I am seriously considering swapping for my QC35's as I really like the gesture and palm function for restoring normal sound. I have heard from others, sound quality esp with music is much better. Only concern is the warm ears thing.
Does it stop you hearing any nagging?

Darn! Not good enough for me to spend $400 bucks then ...
dafman:
Sony WH 1000XM2 currently 30% off at Noel Leeming - $419.
I've ordered.
Heh I've just noticed my reference to these headphones one post above, with the youtube video of the review didn't come through. Thanks for the heads up though, I've gone and got a pair and they are fantastic so far!

Cheers - it would be good if you could post the YouTube link for the review you thought was good... ta
I would like to chime in here. I personally own the Bose QC35's however these are really not good for the gym or running. Ended up buying myself the Meizu EP52's as I've always been pretty impressed with the EP51's for the price and...
Holy crap - these are some great Bluetooth IEM's. Paired up with my phone which supports aptX the audio quality, bass etc is impressively good given the price of them (I listen to quite a bit of House / Trance). Went to the Gym tonight and I can safely say they won't be falling out during a workout. I am incredibly impressed. Still however won't be giving up my QC35's :)

Thanks for the heads up. I need a lightweight replacement option for my aging Jaybirds.
I took a pair of Sony MDR-10RNCs into PB Tech and very briefly A/Bd them with the Sennheiser PXC550s, wired. It was a pretty quick test, not nearly enough to properly compare them on sound and noise cancelling, but it was enough to know that the Sennheiser's are not better enough to justify an upgrade, for me at least.
Mr. PB and I weren't even sure that we had the noise cancelling working properly in the shop. It was on -- a nice lady-voice told us so -- but it didn't compare to the Sonys. Perhaps we had it the wrong mode, whatever, we didn't investigate after deciding that the sound wasn't going to do it for me.
A few gestures on the right earcup worked well. I tried it because some reviewers have had problems there. Turning the earcup to switch them off would get old though, so before looking seriously at them I would find out of there is another way to save battery. Surely there must be, otherwise they would look dumb hanging cock-eyed on them fancy headphone stands.
If you don't have cans in this range yet, definitely check out the PXC550s for yourself. But don't buy them untested if you already have a pair of $3-500 BT NC cans because they may not be much better than what you have.
And thanks to PB Tech Hamilton for the great service.
So after my first two flights with the Sony WH 1000XM2 I have to say I am super liking them. The audio quality is superior to my Bose QC35's, and the gesture control is unbeatable. My only wish would be if the /media music was paused if they removed from my head.
I did suffer slightly sweaty ears by the end of both of my flights but I suspect that's a me thing. Others may not have the same issue to the same degree. Only 1 ear was affected and it's one I have had surgery near.
Bought a pair of Sennheiser HD600's during the pbtech cyber Monday sale - 30% off!
Mate coming over from Melbourne on Sunday is bringing a Schiit Fulla 2 with him I ordered from Addicted to audio..
This will be my first audiophile setup and boy am I excited :D
I see NL has the 30% off Sony WH 1000XM2 again ($419)
Does anybody know somewhere in Wellington I can try these on for size?
I've been to JB and NL Tory & Featherston St but they don't have them on display and HN don't seem to stock them at all.
