Well my son 8 years old can wear mine, and I am an adult male and I can wear them, and they fit us both with appropriate adjustments.

Unless you a head the size of a pin or a wheel, I think it should fit.

Nice, it's a keeper! :-)

However, if this is your first "reference" HP, be ready to get underwhelmed, especially if you're a basshead.

Looks like you have a decent amp to drive it well. Also, it (HD600) would probably need some burn-in period, mines sounded flat and lack of any bass when I first got it.

Just tyre kicking but does anyone have the PSB m4u2 headphones?

What is the noise isolation like? my Polk's have terrible noise isolation, it really is the only thing I fault them on.

The PSB's always rate 1 and 2 with the Polk's for SQ and as the best sounding ANC headphones on the market.

My HD6XX phones arrived today (the Massdrop version of the Sennheiser HD650), and unfortunately I suspect that I will need to upgrade my current dac/amps to get the most out of them. Although they sound OK with my current cheap portable DAC/Amps (SMSL Idea/Fiio X3/CEntrance DACPort etc), a pair of HD598SEs I have sound a lot better/more open on the same hardware even after I adjust for volume differences, which I hadn't anticipated.

It's possible that it's just a different sound signature, but I suppose I should probably try them on some better amps to see if the sound changes by much. I didn't really want to go down that rabbit hole though, as I had hoped for an improvement with my current hardware rather than having to source a well-matched and not hugely expensive new headphone amp.

Any idea what the best Wellington-based hi-fi places would be to try out a better amp?

The HD6xx series are better with a Tube Amp that accentuates the warmth.

Also consider the fact you might want to leave them playing sound when you go to work for a couple of days and see how they sound.

I bought some HD800S and my initial 2 hours I thought they were either the worst sound I'd ever heard, or were completely fautly. Left them playing and came back 4 hours later they were (are) unbelievable headphones.

I've drawn the same conclusion re my HD6XX's and my FiiO E10K. But as @networkn has mention I've heard they need some time to burn in. I have been wondering if I could get away with something like a Bravo Audio V3, otherwise considering a Schiit Magni 3 & Modi 2 combo.

I think with my HD800S the membranes just needed to stretch. I am not a believer in the whole run them in for a month nonsense, but I think a work day at a reasonable volume would do the trick.

Thanks for the advice. I'll leave them running during the day, and a friend has got an SMSL SAPII Pro he can give me - not the fanciest headphone amp, but it has enough power to run the HD6XXs, so I can see if that's the issue.

Owned my Sony MX2's for over a month now. I use them most week days for around 30-40 mins per day. Yet to discharge my initial battery charge!

On an impulse buy, this week I purchased the Sennheiser Momentum Free in-ear wireless as 30% discount at JB.

It took me a little while to get use to the weight/feel of the battery pack and controller hanging off both ears, but am very happy with purchase.

A nice upgrade from the Jaybird Bluebuds. The Momentum don't fall out of my ear (my main gripe with the Jaybirds), are more comfortable and sound signature is definitely better (as you would expect). Recommended.

I’m sure the answer is buried within the 75 pages of this thread, but what’s the recommendations for cheap noise cancelling headphones (for long haul airplane use)?

Looking for options either on ear (I wear glasses though) or in ear, active device, at under $150 max.
