I'm also looking for something with the following:

  1. Noise cancelling for a trip to Europe
  2. Comfortable to wear with glasses
  3. Bluetooth with mic so I can use them for handsfree calls.
  4. Carry box would be handy so I can keep them safe while travelling
  5. I'm not an audiofile, so decent sound is fine, it doesn't have to be utterly perfect.

I have a few airpoints to use up, so see these are an option from the airpoints store:

Braven Noise Cancelling Signature Headphones: $370

JBL E65 Bluetooth Headphones: $310

But also open to just paying cash if something much better is an option.

I don't wear glasses so can't comment, but I can tell you I would buy the Sony WH1000M2's again in a heart beat.

Just a note on my pair of QC35 I picked up at the end of 2016 from The Warehouse in a daily special (I think @networkn might have alluded to the special in a post back then?). I started getting noise from the left speaker. Static-like crackling with pink noise.

The Warehouse didn't know what to do about it. They were more than 12 months old and it seems they'd parallel imported the batch from goodness knows where, so didn't have a path for repair/replacement open to them. Eventually one of their buyers (I think) spoke to the local Bose agent, who agreed to look at them and treat them as a locally supplied pair. I dropped them off in Newmarket one Thursday, and the following Tuesday they had a new pair of QC35II ready for me to collect! Not a bad result in the end.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

I just got some B&W PX wireless headphones.

Early days but they are very impressive. I have part burned them in with 8 hours of pink noise - I will do another 8 hours overnight, as I have read a number of reviews that say that they are better for it.

Although I have not tried the ANC in anger, I do not see these primarily as ANC headphones, but as wireless audiophile headphones that also offer some ANC ability as a side benefit. FWIW the ANC seems to work well as far as I have been able to test it (have not flown). Many of the reviews compare them to Bose and Sony ANC but I think both of those put ANC first and sound quality second, whereas the B&Ws are very much the other way round. Soundstage is excellent, with plenty of space around the instruments and a real sense of place when listening to tracks recorded using live mics in a studio or similar - it is very like being in the room.PRAT is really good - they will make you tap your foot and nod your head for sure. Voicing is neutral, with good but not earth-shattering bass. Bass is tight and well defined, not just a flabby low range woof; they probably would not be your first choice for that modern stuff people claim is music, but for jazz, acoustic singer/songwriter, AOR etc they are truly excellent for a wireless can.

Build quality is first rate - metal, real leather, kevlar braided cables etc. Yes that adds to the weight but I have worn them 3 hours at a stretch with no issues. They support Apt-X and Apt-X HD as well as the usual suspects like AAC etc. I do not have anything that can supply Apt-X HD signal so I can't test that but normal Apt-X is very good. Battery life is around 25-30 hours depending on how you use them.

I'll add further thoughts in due course.

I worked out that across various uses, I have 14 pairs in the house today excluding IEM's. That includes multiple wireless gaming sets, multiple NC sets, far too many HiFi ones. If anyone is in the market for headphones, I have so many :)

My wife is an incredibly understanding soul, however when I purchased the HD598's recently to "try" with my GX1000 Gaming and Surround DAC (both of which are freaking amazing in case anyone cares) I had to go upstairs and hide the suitcases.

If you buy those, I'll swap you for my HD800S for a bit and we can try each others :)

No, sorry, but pricespy shows the price history. I think Sony tends to be pretty aggressive during long weekends.  If you can handle being patient you'll do ok. I paid $437 and it was worth every cent.

Unfortunately I'm flying overseas mid Sept, and no public holidays before then.
