ARIKIP:

The movie was a greatly edited/shortened version of the 3 parter "Saga of a Starworld".

According to "Battlestar Wiki" it wasn't originally in three parts:

"Saga of a Star World aired as a tv movie in a single installment on September 17th, 1978, and was thereby the only episode of the show which did not have a running time of approximately 50 minutes. With commercial breaks, the episode ran 3 hours. For subsequent television showings, in the USA and overseas, it was re-edited into three 50-minute episodes."

It appears that you're correct about it being shortened/edited for theatrical exhibition though.

They have changed the artwork for the 2-Movie Spider-Verse release. I will post the new one below and adjust the post # on the weekly update.

I'm still trying to get to grips with these releases. Looks like I'm jumping in a little early with some. I need to wait for the official announcements from the studios.

I saw the theatrical release, late 70s at Aucklands Cinerama Theatre in Sensurround as a 12 year old, thats how us Kiwis first got to know this series. When it finally aired on TV here in 1981?? we got the extended "Saga of a Starworld" to kick it all off. I remember thinking,i thought they cut off Baltars head off to find in the extended version the Imperious Leader changing his mind about it. I have the Blu-ray Boxed set of the series and if you are a fan its worth the effort of purchasing.

Sanity Australia have announced several titles that JBAU haven't announced yet. They may not do. Future weekly update sheets will include the Sanity pre-order prices until such time that JBAU add them to their website.

JBAU are likely to be a cheaper option.

Well, after the announcement that Disney were pulling out of the physical media market in Australasia, I decided that I would probably import the occasional title from the US, but easier said than done apparently.

ELEMENTAL will be released in The States on September 26th, but the standard 4K Ultra HD will only be available to members of the Disney Movie Club (DMC). I went to the site, and there are some good offers for members, but you can only join if you live in one of the 50 United States.

Walmart have announced a Lenticular Cover Edition, and Best Buy have a SteelBook Edition. Problem is the latter two retailers don't ship outside North America either. Disney have an ongoing feud with Amazon, so its unlikely that Amazon will have anything available. Nothing has been announced for the UK yet (but it could happen). Personally, I won't be buying ELEMENTAL on disc, but it would be nice to have the option to buy physical media instead of having to join Disney Plus or buy from a digital seller. I hate Disney 😁

BARBIE has passed $US1 Billion at the worldwide Box Office. Its the second film to reach the mark this year. The other being The SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE, which is still in the lead for this year, but BARBIE could possibly overtake it in the next couple of weeks.

The 4K Ultra HD release is up for pre-order at JBAU's website for $AU36.98. There is also a SteelBook pre-order available for $AU39.98. Final artwork to be advised.
