I've got a DMR-XW380 and looking at updating to DMR-PWT530 for BluRay, iPad streaming and remote record, but don't want to loose the DLNA server function. The Panasonic website is vague about the DLNA features in the current model, so wanting first person verification?

According to their downloadable brochure it is DLNA server and client same as the XW380.

Their product comparison tool was somewhat ambiguous, I'm hopeful the new model is the same as the old with more features without regression.

Yeah it does have a server. The iPad/android app is a dog though. It can't even find the server. Works OK on my PC though.

Note, on the previous model (my cousin has it), the iOS applications we also terrible. I disabled the WiFi on his modem and replaced with an AirPlay (AirPort Express) device physically connected to the PVR and it works a treat.

I might try that - I've got an airport express running on the network as an airplay receiver.

I might try that - I've got an airport express running on the network as an airplay receiver.

let us know how it goes. I've changed my network over (and friend has also) from the in-built WiFi access point to AirPort Express for Apple devices.

I'm just using the airport express as an access point though. It's in my AV cabinet and being used to drive zone 2 on my receiver (hardwired) so it's not practical to use it in place of my TP Link router + Draytek modem.

The PVR is hardwired too. The most frustrating part is the app connects to it fine for remote recording, it's the other bit that doesn't work. I can see the dlna server from other dlna apps on the iPad so I give up.

dang, that's concerning, it was that feature I was keen on using. it works sweet on my cousins one, I hope that feature hasn't regressed.

No luck for me either. I can use Remote Record, but not the watch function cannot find the recorder. I've noticed also that the convert function has been removed, I believe that is due to conversion being against the FreeView rules.

I hadn't read the compatibility page correctly, only the DMR-BWT835 supports "Watch Broadcast Play Video" which is needed for the iPad/Android app.

Took the 530 back and replace with the 835 and now have the streaming function, all good now.

The BWT720 does all that too except I think the DIGA Player software. Can't find it in the Manual but then there has been software updates since I bought it and I have nothing to try it on.
IMO the PWT530 seems to be a complete waste of time and money.
