okay i'm a complete moron when it cones to this topic.

I have a samsung smart tv and nothing else.

i want speakers that will play off this but want then wireless. Bluetooth perhaps.

i want to take these speakers outside and play sky tv music channels or audio from plex media server on the tv. outside is literally on the other sode of the wall to the tv.

i want the quality to sound ok outside as we have a bbq/spa and sitting area.

what do i neee to be able to schieve this and does anyone recommend a good product??

what am i looking for in a project to tell me what the sound quality is??

okay, if you have a 6 series or above samsung tv there is a feature called tv soundconnect, essentially its a proprietary samsung bluetooth protocol that samsung soundbars use so to connect to tv is wireless, the range is normally ~6 meters, not sure how a wall would affect things but it should work,

your alternative is to buy a long audio cable and run it 3.5mm to 3.5mm to the speaker.

there may be some other options out there but its going to get tricky.

Samsung Audio Device Connection Screen Menu > Sound > Speaker Settings > SoundShare Settings Connect the TV to a Samsung audio device for a richer, clearer sound.
This function is available for Samsung Audio Device supported the SoundShare function.
Pair the Samsung audio device using the TV's Bluetooth function.
Refer to the Samsung audio device's operating manual for more information on pairing.
" This feature is only available on LED 6330 series and higher.
● Add New Device Enables/disables SoundShare. Connection signals from New devices are ignored if they are set to Off.
● Samsung Audio Device List Displays a list of paired Samsung audio devices.
Select a device to display its menu options. Activate/deactivate the audio device or remove it from the list.

It does seem to look as though you can purchase SamSung BT speakers

Depending on your budget, you could look at a Sonos Playbar and a couple of Play:1 speakers as surrounds. Needs power at each speaker but is otherwise wireless - runs via wifi. Brilliant gear IMO.

I'll second that
A play bar retails for $1398 all it needs to connect is a optical cable
then you can add play1's for $348
you can use the play1's as surround speakers (in a pair) or just by themselves to play music/ tv sound

best part is range is WAY better than BT, sound quality is TOP notch! and all you will need outside is power; guessing that will be no problem if it's a spa area

Yeah Yamaha have just released a new audio streaming tech to allow this.

Most of the times a TV is just an end point of your home theatre system. It can be a source but it will be probably through the 3.5mm jack to the HT hardware and then from there the HT hardware will have (or not) Bluetooth or other wireless capabilities.

Having said that you could have a look at the Samsung Wireless Multiroom speakers - they have three sizes, work over Bluetooth (only ten metres though and walls will impact it) and WiFi (which probably the TV can't send through). But if you are looking for music, you can use your smartphone and get a lot more content (Spotify, Pandora, IHeartRadio, and so on) than just Sky.

This would be great but I don't use my phone for music - I typically will just use the Sky music channels so want something that can play via the TV.

Music bars are usually linked to the TV for better sound. I wouldn't call them "mobile" enough" and range is a problem.
