My Sony 49X8300c has bad backlight bleeding, I purchased it from JB approx 6 weeks ago.

It has bad backlight bleeding, which I need to get fixed.  Sony will come to my house and repair it, but if they do that, will I still have my right of return with JB if the problem is still there on the replacement unit?

It's easier to have Sony come to my house, but I don't want to lose my access to a refund if the replacement TV is not better as JB would be the one to refund.

What do you guys think?

Did you go straight to Sony? All good if you did, and good to see them offering to come out and sort it.

I can't see getting Sony to come to you affecting your rights under the CGA with JB if the repair doesn't work. Can't see why the repair wont work either, and you wont have the hassle and inconvenience of not having a TV or packing it up and taking it into JB.

Of course it does, JB-Hifi must be given the opportunity to fix the fault first. I'm sure they will be happy to get Sony to do it, but they must be the ones to sort it. Don't complicate matters.

I'm going to take the TV into JB in the weekend as they were not keen to organise an in home repair via Sony, It will mean losing the TV for a couple weeks but will give me the option to get a refund if the replacement isn't improved.   That will allow me to look at other brands or better models

You should have said, "in that case you will need to pay for my consequential losses, Petrol, Parking, etc" they may have then gone for the free Sony in home fix...or not

Unless of course you asked them to pick it up?
