Looking for a soundbar that has a built in FM tuner. Anyone got any ideas?

What about the option of streaming the likes of iheartradio instead of using FM?

Equally, you can stream a lot of radio stations, e.g. using TuneIn Radio.

My father-in-law's Yamaha has a built in tuner.  Not sure of the model.

Proposing streaming only works if it’s the same experience. Ie turn in device, and it just starts on the last station played.

If you have to go hunting round to find the sane station you had yesterday, it’s ux fail. Also vtuner and , iHeartRadio have only some of the stations (Nzme on IHeartRadio, no mediaworks). Sinthstvbecomes an issue.

It’s only real advantage is generally better quality.

Alexa built in isn’t too bad it plays last station it’s hard using voice to play another station though. The worst part is finding a local Wellington version so I don’t get Auckland adds or traffic. The quality is brilliant though no more static

Gone-burger I believe, in favour of on-line streaming.

TuneIn is certainly the better option than vTuner right now (for NZ stations).

The Yamaha with an FM tuner is long discontinued.

THIS.
Plus it's for my mother-in-law and we have a hard enough time teaching her how to use Messenger and Facetime, let alone finding and using radio stations online.
And last i checked, there is no Coast and other stations she listens to.

Coast is on iheartRadio I think.  So like I said before, different stations are on different networks.  iheartRadio, vTuner and TuneIn.  Mediaworks (the edge, etc) might be on vTuner.

So if you were looking for a streaming sound bar, you probably need one that supports all three, else you're stuck in a bluetooth, casting type situation.

No soundbars will run with iHeart / vTuner and TuneIn... basically vTuner has had a massive falling out with manufacturers around the world in recent times and their product is disappearing left, right and circle.

TuneIn has all the MediaWorks and NZME stations.

iHeart is very much biased towards NZME.

I'd look for a product with TuneIn and preset functionality on the remote or app.

This bar does what you want, but if it was for my parents I'd set up the app, update the firmware and save 3 x internet radio favourites so they can recall it on the remote control... because, well, my parents aren't really up to speed with that sort of thing.
