dale77: Interesting disclaimer at the end though...
A short notice before installing: Please do not use this RC1 on a productive system. It is pretty stable but might still contain some glitches. ;)
eXDee: Woohoo, the HTPC has been in bits in anticipation of this. Time to rebuild - looks like i have myself a project.

eXDee: ...Lastly, im using an 8500GT, my motherboard has a HD4200 onboard, i think keeping the 8500GT is probably the best choice. What version of Mediaportal are you currently using? I ask because anything afterMP ver.1.0.2 (I think) will not allow correct playback of 1080i (TV3) H.264 broadcasts without major stuttering. A graphics card upgrade is required. Or are you on DVB-S?
I had a bit of a play around with a ATI 4550 and that seemed to be working pretty well - not 100% sure as the test rig I was using was hooked upto a 15" CRT which is particularly crap to start with :)..

askelon: An 8500GT will still run ok (thats what Im using currently), not perfect but generally acceptable - it'll have a little stuttering from time to time - I normally notice it in the news more than anything..
