gzt: Have you logged a support call for this one?

Have been discussing with supplier of the machine.   Will see how they respond.

Hey folks... Been using a Surface Book here for a week or so.

Has anyone noticed an excessive number of "This application stopped working" mainly on Office 2016 and Chrome? All patches and firmware applied, 16GB RAM/512GB SSD.

Using Microsoft's own AV/firewall...

For example:

Surface Pro here and yes, I see the same.

Also, just to muddy the logs, there are a huge number of

I figured, but where exactly? A scroll through mine finds, none. Thought I would check for you both.

Edit: corrections

I meant none of those two. I get other stuff. (Surface Pro 4)

No, not seeing them but I'm mostly using Outlook; I haven't had cause to use any other part of Office lately and I only installed Chrome this morning.

Since removing Norton and Dropbox I've had far fewer issues than beforehand, but still plenty going on in the logs.

Regardless of the issues (Windows 10 issues unrelated to the Surface Pro hardware and issues with drivers/port replicators etc), I really like this device.

The Surface Book is not running Norton. It is running Office 2016, Chrome, Paint.Net, Notepad++. It can't get more vanilla than that - unless it's out of the box.

Mine is Office 2016, Windows Defender (no other AV), Firefox, Chrome, iCloud and Dropbox (not on startup), Ccleaner paid version (also not running on startup) plus the apps Grover Podcast, Bibliovore, and Microsoft's Solitaire.

I'm not seeing any application problems except some visually glitchy Firefox stuff but I've only opened Excel a few times and Word only briefly. I do, however, use Outlook constantly with multiple accounts configured and OneDrive and OneNote constantly.

I'm not putting anything else on this thing until I try a third unit because of the pen problem. I must call them up again this morning.

Totally unrelated but I'm really impressed how wifi printers and wifi connections (passwords shared on my devices) just work without me doing anything. I like Windows 10 a lot.
