Hi, I have a old laptop in need of a new HDD.  Who sells 1.8" IDE HDDs?  Tried a few and they all don't have it.

Cheers ...

Hmmm, that's quite a weird size
is it ZIF or PATA?

I know the old iRivers have the 1.8" ZIP HDDs as do some of the iPods

Think most PC places in NZ wouldn't stock them, maybe find out what connection it has and get a broken iPod/iRiver with working HDD. Or try online from eBay, anything over 20gb is a bit expensive though compared to 2.5" drives which are cheap and plentiful

I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

cheers, quite a few of the laptops have them ... they now even have SATA 1.8" - like the ultraportables.  I have the IBM Thinkpad X series ... but I got the PATA 1.8" 2005 model.
