good on telecom for bringing out their new broadband plans with higher data caps and no upload caps. i hope i will see these changes soon because the telecom website still have the old broadband plans and when i check my broadband usage for my explorer plan it still has the old data cap of 6gb and not the new data cap of 10gb. and my upload speed is still 165kbps instead of the at least 1.0 Mbps i should be getting.
telecom is going to cache websites:
http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/4712173a26513.html
how it is ment to work is when you type in a url it checks to see if the site has any new content and if it doesn't it will load the page from the isp cache. if there is new content it will download this.
but from what i have been reading it seems some isps cache their sites every half an hour or so, and they rely solely on the cache. so if a website has new content you will not see it for half and hour or more. hopefully telecom is not doing this method.
could this new caching telecom is doing be the reason why when i go to www.youtube.com it redirects me to nz.youtube.com ?
