I can't remember if this has been covered before, but I just had a friend do a speedtest using the ZTE HSPA+ stick, this is from the cellsite nearest Pt England:

He did a 2nd test and it peaked around 17mb

But speed wise thats fairly impressive

Telecom have obviously opened the HSPA+ network up to more devices. It had been locked down to selected IMEI ranges for testing.

Where has Telecom said that? I know it has been reported that VF had a trail for a small number of users, but I haven't seen this for Telecom.

Performance will naturally diminish the more users actively using the local cell site/tower due to contention.

i will still need fixed line broadband... fast speed with mega latency is not useful for gaming.

The sad part, I was downloading a 200MB driver for my old man via the XT Network out in Silverstream; I was hitting 130KBs when downloading a file when compared to ADSL Big Time which was hitting a 'robust' 5KBs. Kind of depressing when the XT network out performs an ADSL connection.
