I've seen some handsets that work - I actually those a couple of Pocket PCs to the USA with Telecom SIM cards just because they worked on all those bands...

So a single handset that does 3G 2100+900+850?? Which handset? Must admit, I tend to really only look at the Nokia's, and so far have seen none.

Two of the i-mate devices I took with me to the USA in the last three trips work in all those bands. Not at all four bands at the same time, but two and two - I've used on AT&T's 850MHz HSDPA network with no problems and back here on 900 MHz as well.

Yea, I can't find any i-mate that supports 900 3G.
If anyone knows of a device that supports all three bands - 2100/900/850 on 3G, post back here.

Yeah at the moment they do, i guess in time, possibly later next year we will see quad band uMTS with both key UMTS frequencies 850/900 and of course 2100mhz.

At the moment i would have to say it will be a choice of a handset that either does 3G telecom and 3g 2100 and 900mhz GSM on Voda until then.

Without dual sim its not really a problem unless you are planning on changing networks all the time.

When telecom can supply non-crap handsets and starts to do their subsidys on them, I expect vodafone to follow so that will hopefully get prices here more inline with the rest of the world, rather then the higher then the rest of the world even when subsidized from vodafone.

Yes, being able to swap between the networks seamlessly would be nice, but to tell you the truth, 2100 only has being serving me quite well on vodafone recently (unlike GSM) other then a few deadspots I know about and avoid (Like glenfield mall)

only on vodafone? the touch hd does 2100 MHz so it would be good to go as well on Telecom.. or am i missing something..

Yep, missing the rest of the country. 2100 will be in main centres, but as soon as you hit the sticks, it is 850 - which could be an advantage, no phone at the holiday spot :)

well, i see stick country very rarely so im fine with 850 2G outside of the main centres :)

it all sounds very exciting for the new network!
