I requested a sim card last Friday, and it arrived on Sat morning.
So judging by the speeds observed on the forum, usually the sim arrives on the next working day.
But when my dad requested a couple of sims for my family this Monday, the rep told him the sims would arrive in 3/5 working days.
Just curious, is it possible they are running out of sim card already due to the demand?

Hi, no we have plenty Cool.  We try to get them out as quickly as possible but are just setting a realistic expectation as there are busy periods where we can't get through them all immediately.

Dear Mr Skinny,

Have looked at your web site but cannot find answers to following -

1: If I have no pre-paid credit to effect a weekly renewal, what happens to the credit still 'on the phone', viz. I haven't used all my calling minutes/TXTs yet?

2: After a weekly renewal, are credits still 'on the phone' rolled over/added, or lost?

Tks,

R.

Hi

Credit is only valid for the 7 days of the plan.  It does not roll over.

From the Terms and Conditions:

If you do not have enough credit on your Skinny Prepaid Account to cover the next due weekly subscription of your plan and it expires, you will be given a 48 hour grace period starting from the time your plan expired (“Grace Period”) in which you can credit your Skinny Prepaid Account to reactivate your plan.

If you credit your Skinny Prepaid Account within the Grace Period with enough credit to cover your plan’s subscription, that plan will be reactivated with the same included calls/text/data, price and renewal date that would have applied if that plan had been renewed on its original renewal date, i.e. you will have the same plan but with less time to use your included calls, text and/or data.

You will be charged Skinny’s Standard rates during the Grace Period, until the time you successfully reactivate or renew your plan, or subscribe to a new Skinny Prepaid Plan.

If you have subscribed to a Combo and an Add-on, but you do not have enough credit in your Skinny Prepaid Account to purchase both the Combo and the Add-on, then the Combo will be renewed but the Add-on will be cancelled.  You will have to re-purchase the Add-on by calling 0800 4SKINNY (0800 475 4669) or dialing 204 from your Skinny phone.

If you have subscribed to a Combo that is not reactivated within the Grace Period, the Combo and any associated Add-on will be cancelled and you will need to re-subscribe to the plan and then choose the Add-on by calling 0800 4SKINNY (0800 475 4669) or dialing 204 from your Skinny phone.

Cheers

Mr Skinny.

It does seem that for low use iphone users it is probably better to stick with XT plans...i see having to subscribe to two Skinny plans as almost the same as a monthly invoice from telecom.

Got a call from Skinny yesterday telling me that my SIM should be on its way soon or something like that. The funny thing was I got it about a week ago or so.

I emailed them on the 5th and got one a day or two later, however today two more sim cards addressed to me were in my mailbox. If they are sending three to everyone then perhaps they may very well run out of them.

I suspect this may also be the case for me, I'll see tomorrow.

I want to buy a Skinny phone from Dick Smith as I have a voucher for there. Trouble is I can't use the voucher to buy online, and the local store first said they had no idea what I was talking about (Skinny mobile), then on today's call said it will 30 January or after until they get stock.

Christchurch stores have had stock since last week, and I thought I read that all other DSE stores were getting the phones/displays this week?

Its looking like I will have to do a 320km drive if I want a phone this week (using the voucher).

IlDuce .... surely they would accept a scan/fax of your voucher until you or someone got to the store on your behalf ? Ask for Manager's name and his direct fax number.

I filled out the online form requesting a card over a week ago. It hasn't arrived yet. Perhaps their mailing list is corrupted and sending multiple sims to the early registrations.

I wish there was a way around it, as I deliberately run my phone out of credit, and have now sold it expecting the stock to be in this week... They say they only accept the hard copy of the voucher to stop someone from using it multiple times.

ID ...where on earth are you to be 300 plus km from a Dick Smith? Got any relatives or trusted freinds you could post the voucher to?
