That's the weird thing. When I took the test. I'm the only one home. I don't use torrents. Nothing is downloading. My laptop is the only laptop on, and even after a reboot, it still remains.

Confusing.

Given it's a laptop, are you using WiFi or ethernet (wired) connection to your modem?

If using WiFi, stop, then try wired before doing anything else.

Ok, wow, uhhh..

I literally bought this laptop a view days ago. Why would the wireless be SO slow? O.O

Hi, you need to run and app like inSSIDer to see what channels are free or not then take the Channel setting off Auto and onto the selected channel.

I'm not sure whether you having the same issue as me. My internet is been super slow since Sunday 10pm and have very similar Symptoms with you. Low download & upload speed, high ping, and massive packet loss.

The customer service did line check and etc and could not find anything wrong from their side.

I suspect something wrong with the exchange servers or something and they finally reported the fault this morning: http://www.telecom.co.nz/whatsnew/broadbandservicestatus/?f=all

As long you called them and log the fault there's nothing else you could do other than wait for them to fix it :(

My laptop using wifi.

Plug in a cable. Testing over WiFi is meaningless these days since it suffers from so many issues in urban environments.

If the issue doesn't occur on a cable you'll need to go through the usual process of running something like inSSIDer and finding the best wireless channel for your environment.
