newbellies: No torrents. The last few times it's gone down I have been using DNS proxy on AppleTV.
As it turns out, I have two of these modems. [I called up Telecom to send me pre-paid courier bag so that I could return the extra modem but it never arrived] Should I try swapping the modem out? Or is the TG589vn v2 considered a lemon?

The TG589vn is "ok"... But the newer modems Telecom are giving out now which are the Huawei ones are excellent. I haven't tested the wifi between the two boxes (hey if you have a spare 589, feel free to send it to me
) flick me an email "pl at telecom.co.nz" and I can run a line test.
