Amosnz: I've recently found and disabled this setting on my Uniden set too. For me the caller ID still worked correctly, but adding a new caller to the phone book would require retyping the number to get rid of the preceding 0.
Menu - Global Setup - Insert 0 - Off is where mine was.
chevrolux: "The Spark Downer tech never showed up"
Shouldn't you of all people be able to find out about the tech visit? Or does Spar employ contractors directly to do these voice swaps?
GregV: Are you still using your in-house copper cabling between the ONT and the jackpoint the phone connects to? My cordless phone is plugged directly into the ONT, so I am no longer using any copper cabling in the walls. Feels good :)

GregV: I'd definitely recommend plugging your phone directly into POTS1 on the ONT to test, bypassing any other wiring.
GregV: You should find the Zero option works - it did for me. It looks like Uniden's default for NZ is to have this enabled.
Has he just used that ADSL splitter/filter to change the plug type from an RJ11 to a BT? Can't see why that would be needed
maxeon:
Yep, he used a ADSL Filter to wire from ONT to RJ11 jack. Maybe the filter is faulty? I will try few options tonight and confirm.

Sounds like he didnt do his job right then. Was the copper disconnected at the old point of entry properly? Not just left to sit in a water filled external box etc?
