i in-putted my credit card details then straight after it asked me for a voucher code which i entered

i then went back to remove my credit card details (they dont need them as its a free service) and i couldn't, have emailed them to complain and asked them to remove the details from my profile

My theory (and it is just that) is that the credit card number is required to validate the Lightbox user account to prevent misuse or multiple accounts per user. Or it could be to verify your 18+ status or country of residence (Lightbox is only for use in NZ).

I note that even if you only ever want to download free apps from Google Play, every Google Play user must still provide valid credit card details AFAIK.

I have been on a free Lightbox trial for nearly a year, but I also had to enter my credit card details when taking that offer up, however I have never been charged anything, and my status has now changed to show that I am a permanent 'free' user. I'm not really worried that I can't remove my credit card details.

I am sure the good people from Lightbox will provide an official line on the issue though.

Lol, so signing my MIL up gets me all her details and passcode a (and she'll only use 1 device on each)

Lightbox says 5 devices, what will the wifi device limit be I wonder?

Hmm, maybe I should take a look at Lightbox. Pity it doesn't really work with my Western Digital device frown

ps2jak2:

Complained on their Facebook that if you had a trial from them and canceled that you can't get it now that its included because of the lack of active subscription. Will see what happens but not impressed.

They talked to me in Facebook PM and today I got a code + it offers a spot to insert one when you sign in on an inactive account now so its all sorted. (If you haven't been auto activated and it won't give you a code you should just be able to ask support now).

I have yet to receive a reply from Spark, however they have now fixed their website, so that it no longer produces an error.

Got my voucher code, and successfully applied it to my lightbox account.

I put in my account number and the 'phone' number from the online bill, although i have no phone line - it said one of them was not correct. (It was an 08 number). Will contact support and try and get them to sort it.

A question  on the free WiFi.  My cell is on Skinny.  I accessed the Spark website and entered in my home phone number and got a password back.  Just went to a local payphone to enter this code and fount that my account subscription expires on 08/05/2016 which is a couple of days away.  However I  can connect to the WiFi unit but can't bypass this screen by clicking OK or Keep on Surfing.

Regards,

Old3eyes
