Talkiet:

You're right. OP is twisting the words or the rep spoke completely out of turn - or possibly out of frustration with the caller.

This is all a little bit rich (and frankly very rude coming from someone purporting to represent his employer), especially when in another post you go on to say:

3) It's perfectly reasonable to be frustrated and even a bit annoyed, but if you're going to post things, post facts. Massively coloured (and wrong) interpretations of information you did not get from authoritative sources is not a good start here.

You should consider taking your own advice and just post the facts as you know them, rather than offering commentaries (as a known staff member of your employer) on the OP's motivations and the like. And that whole "possibly out of frustration" thing is nothing but idle speculation and an unsubtle personal attack, unless you are a clairvoyant.

For God's sake.... storm in a teacup anyone?

Talkiet addressed the OP issues point blank. The OP was u happy about it. Thread over.

I hope the mods lock this thread soon before we get another JohnR situation...

Well, I can't see any "JohnR situation" happening anywhere. All that was requested is just that people be treated with a little bit of courtesy and respect. It's not that much to ask of adults. For heaven sake, it's even in the FUG.

Edited: I have zero desire to carry on with this debate. Not meaning to suggest that the mods are supporting the replies to the OP at all - just saying that it's their forum. I am out of this thread.

Right now there are something like 80 RSP's in the NZ market. The great thing about competition is you're free to use any of those that meet your requirements. If Spark can't meet those, move.
Moving isn't really an option for me at this point.

* Most of those RSPs do not offer business plans with IPv6 support.

Without naming and names the main players of any significance offering IPv6 right now are dedicated business providers who have customers with a genuine need for IPv6.

Surely the largest RSP's in NZ will be the last to move to v6, since they have the most complexity & scale of equipment to implement on.

I've worked with a tiny portion of config on these core routers, and there's not a hint of v6 in the hundreds of lines of routing. And that's just one box of many. Asking around, internal teams just throw up their hands in horror, saying as if they haven't got enough to do already.  Some dedicated v6 project will come along eventually.

The small, agile ISP's with a handful of routers & connections will offer it first, as they already do.

OP co-mangles getting from local site to local site quickly & with v6, and getting into Asia with v6.

Surely he can v4 VPN between his sites, tunnelling all the v6 he likes, and use a niche ISP or an Asian VPN provider as exit point for v6 in Asia from NZ.
