Probably not. But please try connecting a computer directly to the ONT. Start a PPPoE dialer on your computer. Username/password bigpipe and see what you get.

Yep I know John, thanks. Was just showing its not due to multiple users sucking up the 120Mbps.
Is there anything that can be done to improve the WIFI? There must be something limiting it. Upload speed has doubled with UFB.
your forgetting neibouring connections can also be taking up the RF space, thus slowing Wifi.
Also that 120Mbps is half duplex.
BP don't do any shaping on their end so there is no profile issue there.
Have you tried asking them? they can check the other end of things.
This is the only unit connected out of the 9 to UFB as I requested the install its just been done.
My ethernet gave the same speed. But as I said, will retest with new EThernet. If this is the issue, is there anything that can be done to improve my wifi speeds. If its not the issue, I will test the OMT directly.
You can only connect one device to the ONT. You could possibly connect your TV directly to the ONT, provided the TV can run a PPPoE client. This would result in only your TV being able to access the internet, however.
How well WiFi will perform has so many contributing factors. A setup that works well in one environment may perform poorly in another. As an example on the high end, I can pull 700Mbps over my 802.11ac WiFi with a 3x3 client and AP, but it only performs that well over a short distance. If I swap to 2.4Ghz with the same client and AP I'm lucky to move 150Mbps. If I moved my AP and client to a large apartment building, it's highly likely it wouldn't perform as well due to interference from neighbouring networks.
If you care about getting the most of your connection, hard wire as many devices as you can via Ethernet.

If I it tests out to be my wifi then I will accept 30Mbps.
One simple thing I did was move the router in front of the TV, added 5Mbps.
I counted 6 wifi ATPs, none of which are more than 1 star. (its all solid concrete). Only 9 units. I suspect the networks I can see are not from my neighbours but opposing buildings. What can I do to turn off their devices? I JOKE.
Its all a bit up in the air until Ive tested both my router and the OMT.
I have to say Bigpipe support is much faster than the support Ive had with other ISPs, generally because it goes to the right place straight away and they reply generally within 30 mins. For some reason email support is better imo. Perhaps because you dont have to write stuff down etc. If you had a direct line to other ISP Techs it would be different of course, but that never happens. One of the reasons this account has been with bigpipe 5 odd years, that and its $79 ;-p
A lot of notebooks these days dont have Ethernet ports, what are you meant to do there? Luckily newer wifi is better on notebooks and phones/tablets. But would be nice to have 120Mbps on devices.

Right now, you can use it for signing up to multiple ISPs.
In the future, it could be used for TV over fibre, telehealth, security, stuff like that.

Buy an appropriate Ethernet adapter. Failing that, an enterprise grade AP setup and run it on quiet radio channels (doesn't guarantee performance, but should perform better than a consumer grade router like the NF4V).
Another option is to move somewhere with minimal interference on the shared 2.4 and 5Ghz bands, but that would be going overboard a bit in my opinion. Much cheaper/easier to just run an Ethernet cable. :)
I just checked and the NF4V (my poor consumer grade router sniff) doesnt do a 5Ghz band. But I read somewhere that changing Bandwidth from 40 to 20hz can sometimes improve things.....
I use DUH me lol, USB-C to ethernet, wasnt thinking. Ok well I got a 20ft cable in case I either want to move the router or if I want to connect something further away via Ethernet. I might get a couple of 1m ones for the TV and Xbox. Actually I shouldnt need one for the TV if I get my Xbox for my BDay like a good friend should be buying me :-)
Its odd if other ATPs are interfering with my wifi, why is it only impacting download and not upload which pretty much always maxes out at 20Mbps.

NVM bandwidth change worked.
Ok on my old notebook that was getting 10Mbps down far end of house all doors shut. change from 40hz to 20hz Im now getting 20Mbps up and down.
Now Ill try a different channel.

Pretty happy with that considering this is a 6 year old xps 14x, its as fast as most dual cores, has a gt630m which is ok for older games, 16GB ram, windows 10 upgraded, is in as new condition, and because the guy listed it to end at 3am, i got it for $150. ;-p
So changing to 20hz is getting me 4-5 bars now on the old girl, and 3ms ping 23Mbps Down, 19.5Mbps up. Much improved over the 8Mbps it was getting in this room. All doors closed.
Ill let you all know how I get on with the ONT and Router Ethernet test when my servant arrives with a new one. ;-p

When I bought the NF4V a few years back, it was considered pretty good value for $200 ish. Is it worth anything used?
And if so what device would you recommend for good Wifi reception etc? (Sub $400)
Given the connection only went live late yesterday and there was another recent issue with a BP UFB connection taking a day or so to fully provision, perhaps just log a fault with them, and see if it clears in 24 hours.

It will definitely do better in the speed department. The HG659 (ie Bigpipe Modem) can do 200Mbps up and down easily on 5G.
