Got mine done at 1pm and still nothing. i hope it has been done right! don't want to have to go to the store again.

Some people have no clue & expectations far beyond what is reasonable!!! Its the launch day, it TAKES TIME, how could you not expect that and still post on Geekzone??

I went & assisted a store today a new experience which had queues to the door non stop all day long. They, did a great job & generally most stuff happened quickley.

In my opinion serveral areas could have been better but overall the launch day went really well from the volumes I heard about!

Fast I get, fast it is. but you dont need to be a rocket scientist to understand that if you buy a device & connection from a store that has queues out the door & is flat out, the connection might take longer than usual?

shabby telecom...not a good show..I moved across at 9.00am with a nice new E71 and I still do not have a connection to it. Advice to switch off and on not known by Telecom reps in Queenstown. All a bit underwhelming and how many years to plan this BIG event.
Also wonder what connection Freitasm has with Telecom..he spends a lot of time making excuses for them.... seriously its slack and pathetic to have this type of service..and Ive been with them since 1986...should have gone with the multi nationals..old fools never learn

Many have accused him of being paid by Telecom, Vodafone, Telstraclear, etc - you name it. I honestly believe he isnt in any way, hes simply trying to make sure that anyone who has a complaint makes it without any insults or outrageous or incorrect claims, in order to keep these companies representatives here.

How many mesage boards to you know of, where multiple companies choose to provide community support on a completely unofficial site such as this, especially when their competitors also have representatives here? Many people dont realise that this is pretty rare.

Something such as slow connecting is surprising but understandable with a large volume. I would be annoyed also about this, especially from the point of view it of a general consumer it completely conflicts with their main marketing scheme, but i dont think anything that Mauricio is saying is unreasonable at all.

Just my 2c, and no im not 'sucking up' to an admin or anything, if i believed otherwise i'd say so.

I guess from your posting here at 9PM that people are working overtime to get the issues sorted? That is good to hear I guess. Although, I must say that it's a bit shabby that the folks at *123 have the ability to help push through residential accounts ahead of time, but business accounts (even Home Business!) - well, you can wait until Monday because only the Business team can touch those accounts and they're 9-5ers.

Actually most dealers/stores have had little time considering building a network infrastruture doesnt happen over night especially on this scale & most of the timing, training has taken place in a short amount of time.

You may find that the dealer / store needs to reload the connection. I know plenty of email orders still have not be processed, I just got an email stating one of mine has just been connected. The dealert should have given you a resonable expectation but come on... its the first day, the system is hardly going to be running light.... its under huge load!

They will want to clear today's back log, over the long weekend I guess it will be just as bad. Shame you can't log in anywhere and get a status of your connection.

Seriously Team...why have Hammond and all that fast talk ......why were we not warned that this could happen...because when has Telecom really cared...I could tell you some stories...all I wanted was just once a smooth transaction...ask the Queenstown store.
Then as we say down here good things take time...
