Aaroona: Spoke too soon.

There is definately something wrong in that image but I don't think it's Big Time traffic management, Geekzone is hosted at Iconz (i think) ie: local traffic and they don't manage local traffic at all, I am pretty sure local traffic doesn't even go through the traffic management hardware.

forums.asp should not be taking ~20ssec I would triple check your modem, os settings etc.

Dunno what's wrong with your connection but I'm doing 1.4MBsec at the very moment. So that makes clear that not PLAN is working wrong but something with your physical connection.

Yes, Doozy and I have come to that conclusion also over PM.

He's suggested I call in tomorrow and talk to them about it. Not quite sure what i'm meant to say really, since I've already spoken to them about it already. But we'll see.

Been umming and ahhring over whether to switch to Big Time from Snap. I plan to subscribe to NBA TV so i can watch the nba games whenever i want via video streaming. Would be really annoying to have constant buffering while trying to watch a game.

By the looks of it, being on ADSL2+ should mean that I ** should** have no issues at all?

Sunday morning, Youtube is not working, all that cache stuff they have installed, so I remote connected into my office and Youtube is working, at work we use Vodafone.

Are you using TC's DNS server?  If not, give that a go

Tip with youtube, start to buffer the video, then refresh the page. It seems to give the cache server a time to get ahead of you.

As of this morning Youtube is broken for me too. It doesn;t even start buffering, it just sits there for a while and then says sorry there was an error.

A quick look at NBA TV stream's miniumum requirements find that it requires 1 Mbit aka 128 KB/s for SD and 1.5 Mbit aka 192 KB/s for HD.

Big Time is not the righ plan for people who want to do that sort of real time video streaming from overseas imo.

I would look at Maxnet or Telstra Clear plans.

Cheers for that, I thought so. I was thinking purely of the cost benefit, however I did try the HD streaming test and it was buffering constantly.. to be expected. The SD test worked pretty well. I'm on the 60GB for $89.95 plan with Snap. I may just move down the a lower data cap. Snap is excellent but I need to bring my costs down :(

I tell you what, trying to download some files (using around 400kb/s) and trying to surf the web at the same time is a joke. :(

Not sure whether this is related to Plan or related to the other issue I'm having as well.

Cant wait till Tomorrow, when Dean (doozy) can look into it for me!
