You still have not posted your modem stats, I would suggest you check that out first.

All seems good here in Wellington

These ones are short but often there are many minutes so TCP times out and then the router has to load a new IP address.

And no it is not filters or the router or the wiring

Hi, I recently shifted from Waikanae where I was 3.5km from the exhange (which is ADSL1 only not upgraded for another 18months) with sync rates of 6.5Mb/s to Haitaitai, plan is just the Explorer (10G), but all xtra plans are now Fs/Fs. Actual sync rate is just on 18Mb/s, naturally a correctly fitted ADSL filter for optimal performance.

@tunafish, there are lots of potential reasons for disconnections like you are experiencing, some are Telecoms problem, some yours, to clear yours you need to confirm you have no wiring issues, a bad filter or incorrectly wired setup will result in DSL disconnections when phones pickup or down and during ringing, or just erratically. Next thing to check is you modem which might be one its way out. If you check those then ask Telecom to check from their end.

Cheers
Cyril

What would be a correctly fitted filter? I am just using the dynalink one that came with my RTA1025W. Is there a particular way to set it up?

The installation of a central filter rather than using inline filters on each phone device, and a dedicated line to the modem is the only way to ensure optimum connection, especially with ADSL2+ and madatory with VDSL2.

Hey,
Yeah I've been having the same problem!
About a week ago I was getting atleast 5mb/s but since then I've gone down to around 1mb/s and makes using the internet over a network very frustrating.

Yes, I'm on the Big Time plan, about 2 days ago my internet speed has gone down so slow.
I can no longer watch youtube videos anymore, even loading images on a website takes a while...
