:0 so this is why my speed is sooo damn slow now.

Tsk tsk they already lost the cell phone market.
Now they want to surrender their stake in the broadband market. Stupid move Telecom.

It seems like everything else got faster though.. maybe changing things so its a balanced management, rather than shaping some things more than others.

I just noticed it this morning, can't seem to get more than 50kB/s or so from any source, even with a download manager.

I'll call up Telecom in the morning to complain or something.

Sorry but the slight increase in torrent speeds will not make up for the extreme loss in speed of HTTP downloads I have experienced.

Now downloaing at about 1/20 (one-twentieth) of the speed that I was downloading at yesterday.

I called Telecom up early this morning and they advised me that they've been recieving literally HUNDREDS of calls about this and that it is indeed an error on their part, and that a patch was applied via their end, but I am still experiencing the problem!!
I am going to be calling them up after 9Am NZ time, because apparently the tech support team is run from Manilla (and Manilla is not aware of this problem, that's why they've been telling me I'm the ONLY one experiencing this dreaded problem!!!).

Not just international either, it's local too. Telecom (or shall I say Telecom's guinea pigs in the Pillipines,) refuse to acknowledge this and blame YOU, the telecom customer, for the problem.
I spent over an hour this morning trying to be put through to someone who could speak the Queen's English and understand that this was NOT just me who was experiencing this problem!

STILL, after over an hour, nobody was any more the wiser. They finally admitted (in broken english of course)
"There do seem to be da problem wit da http downloada speeda".

Come on, for god's sake - this company earns millions per year, and they can't even get it right! They are always puttnig their technical problems back on the customer (you, and me), and refuse to accept any reliability for any of the issues which have come up.

At the moment, I might as well be on dialup - that's the speeds I'm getting - nothing over 65k download, no matter where it comes from.

If you look at HowickDota and my tests you can see local is not shaped, what site are you having problems on?

Any website at ALL related to http downloads, doesn't matter where the actual website is located, local or international, i am recieving the same slow results. My line speed test is fine though!

You are right I can still download a whopping 1MB/s from local sites
But since when does anyone do the bulk of their downloading from local sites?

Yeah mate, I can't even get 1MB from a local site. I usually get 1MB from most sites (during the day too, which is incredible), but can't get more than 65kb from anywhere :(

Yeah I have the exact same problem. You almost feel sorry for telecom with all their technical problems !!

I rang 10:30am to report it and the customer service person I talked to was clueless about this. She blamed it on the software I was running on my computer. Even though this was happening to all of the other computers in the house and my friend down the road.

HAHAHA, same thing here, when I eventually got through to someone after an hour almost I got someone in bloody philipines who didn't know WHAT the hell they were talking about, made me make screenshota of everything etc. Face it - they've seriously stuffed up, and I am going to demand a refund if it's not settled by tonight.
