neoprint: I'm getting sick of this, first I swap from 2d to Telecom a week before the free $60 credit, now I just switched my naked Vodafone connection to Telecom with home phone a week before they announce naked. Dammit.have you tried to switch to naked? this isn't a 'new customers only' promo like the $60 one

ferg_nz: Late reply to this thread but what if you go down the path of Naked with telecom but want to port your original number away. the way this thread reads is a number is still assigned to you line. Is this number your original number with inbound and out bound Bars or do they change it completely allowing you to take you number to a VoIP provider??
I ask as this is what i am thinking about doing and if they keep your number with a toll bar on it then a number port will disconnect the line and you will loose the Broadband??
Any ideas anyone
Correct.
You number is there but with a full two-way toll bar. It can still be used for 111 but you won't be able to out-port the number and retain the broadband service.
ferg_nz: well thats a pain in the butt.
I am expecting a call from the Telecom Home Solutions Team this afternoon so i can discuss the options with them. Ill update here once i have spoken to them

Technically we could change your number, give you a dummy number on naked (random throw away number for billing) and then put a temporary hold on the number you want to use so the LSP of your choice could outport. Bit messy but it could be done, business rules would mean this would be $63 for a change of number and then the number hold at $23 per month though. See what Home Solutions say.

And thats exactly what they just offered me minus the Hold on the current number bit and mentioned Customerlink to keep it active in the system for it to be ported.
Time to think about what i want to do or just take the big $5 loyalty credit each month and stay with the status quo. They dont make it easy oh and to add to the complexity i have Shared billing for my Broadband part of my bill that needs extra attention to resolve
Shared billing is an evil creature, spawned from the fiery pits of hell. The number hold I was talking about was customerlink also just number hold usually goes down better when people dont know what customer link is haha
