Also noticed voice minutes have gone up to 400 minutes (was 300, not that I use more than 30 a month).

I just noticed that my online bill shows this:

I'm confused too. The main website doesn't reflect these changes, it would be nice to know what exactly is happening here.

This is why I left Telecom.

I think their website is just bad. There is no effort to make it better or on par with the other two telcos. I keep hearing that 'changes are coming', but nothing has happen. You still need to speak to customer service to get your credit card added for automatic payment!

It seems like this is a minor upgrade on the current plans to beat the 2degrees offering.

It seems the plan details page on the mobile app helps explain it. So minutes are now 600 instead of 500. and 1.5GB data instead of 1.25GB IIRC? So not as amazing as the double data I first thought I had when I saw the My Telecom page online :(

Edit: On the plus side, my plan won't be expiring for nearly 8 thousand years apparently.

Just to compare with that plan above:

Vodafone Red Open Term $69
Unlimited calls/txts to NZ/AUS
$5 daily roaming
1.5GB + 1GB (for 6 months) = 2.5GB

What stands out for Telecom are:
1GB wifi/day
Spotify premium

So still no sign of them including AU minutes in their plans then?

One of the reasons I switched to Skinny was calls and txts to OZ are included.

Generally known online as OpenMedia, now working for Red Hat APAC as a Technology Evangelist and Portfolio Architect. Still playing with MythTV and digital media on the side.

This is becoming more and more important to me as my usage is relatively irratic, 90% of the time I am well under my allocation but occasionally I have a high usage month and blow my allocation, rollover would be ideal

I'm on Telecom in Auckland and no complaints. Don't thinkj any of the top telco's are crap and not sure why people think they are but you have a choice instead of whingeing about them, besides the threads about Telecom mobile plans
don't have to believe me, go and look at any two degrees or vodafone site and you'll see telecom sites are considerately shorter, if constant drop outs are ok for you then stay with telecom

"you know all over auckland" - No, I don't know where you mean. It's a big place.
I think you could do to try a different handset first.
Tried different handsets, you'll just have to accept that telecom coverage is crap, and it didn't get any better with their new WCDMA network , CDMA was just as bad.

Have you considered that your big head might be interfering with the signal?

Then please ask for it! when Telecom do it vodafone will probs follow, then I'll be happy

Please, everyone ask for it, providers base all their offerings on customer feedback, that's how it works,

No it can't have been. because 1. it doesn't do it on vodafone, 2. it happened with IVRs also so not actual people at the other end.
