I cant see any RJ11 jacks for backfeed? I was assuming they had an RJ11 cable from the ont to that dsl filter that was then just plugged into one of your existing BT sockets and they had lopped off the exchange cable outside.

Normally they seem to be putting in a RJ45 socket for the backfeed, but I am guessing because of your non-chorus sockets they didnt want to mess that up so just used the existing BT one. But that should really be a straignt thru cable, BT to RJ11, no filter at all preasent.

Yes you are correct. They have a RJ11 cable connected to a ADSL Filter and from the filter they connected it to the usual BT socket which back feed to the ETP where they have wired internally to all jacks.

So, technically if I remove the Filter and just use a direct RJ11 to BT cable - do you think it should work? What is the purpose of the filter?

The purpose of the filter is to block DSL signals to its BT socket. There should in theory be a straight thru connection between its RJ11 and BT plug, but who knows with cheap things like that what it has done.

I'd still suggest use the supplied RJ11 cbale to go direct into a wired phone if you have one and see what you get.

I will try this option when I get home tonight and post results.
Thanks for that.
