Linux: Approx where are you? Street name should be ok

Linux

Campbell road, auckland. Closer to great south road.

You're in central Auckland? With those modem stats I assumed you were in the outskirts of Eketahuna...

I'd suggest going back to Bigpipe, giving them the line stats from your modem that you posted above - particularly the attenuation, noise margin, and sync rate figures. That should be enough for them to get a line test done which I would imagine will pretty clearly show the fault, and enable Chorus to address it.

@Joshbigpipe may be interested in this too.

I am interested. @okashiicake, looks like you've been having an ungood time with this. Can you please PM me the email address you use for Bigpipe and I'll have the team review your case and see if we can get you a proper resolution.

Update:

Bigpipe told us that a technician would be over to repair the line and did while people were at work. HOWEVER, the speeds are only very marginally better. Nothing has changed except the fact the internet doesn't drop out as frequently.

Prior to the repair our speeds were about 10mb/s download and beneath you can see them now.

ping

39 ms

Download

1.10 Mbps

Upload

0.15 Mbps

We still have trouble loading even the most basic of websites

What are the xDSL modem line stats since the repair? Speedtests do not add much value

What are the new modem line stats - attenuation, noise margin (SNR), and sync rate are the 3 most important. Can then compare before and after repair to see what the difference is.

EDIT: Did have the bad spulling

I don't know. I have no idea how to check the results of my modems stats prior to this event. I didn't  have a reason to. Do you know how i could find the stats for them of 5-6 days ago?

Hmm, not that different to previously. I'd suggest another (coincidentally unrelated) wiring issue with those stats. The attenuation seems far too high to have ever got a 10Mb/s connection previously - it suggests a broken or corroded joint somewhere along the line.

Did Chorus check the speed of the connection outside your house to see if it was any better to inside - this rules out whether the wiring inside your house is having any effect.

Thats the thing, I don't even know! I've never met one of these chorus technicians who have come over, they've never been available to talk to.

How can I talk to someone who chorus won't even let me contact directly? Neither me or my partner received a call from them despite us both giving our phone numbers so we didn't even know they were over. They could have done their famous 'job' they did the first time (absolutely nothing) and we wouldn't know.

Your ISP would normally handle the contact with Chorus, unless they need access to your property. Did you follow up with @JoshBigpipe ?

Did, but haven't had a reply yet.

After looking at the repair job, they sort of just.. taped the two bits back together, but a lot of the wire is exposed. They didn't even replace the broken damaged line.

Howdy. Sorry for not replying to your PM! I did have the team chase it up straight away for review, though, so you should have heard from them more or less immediately. Let me know if not. Also, good grief. Is that seriously a photo of the repair on your line? If so, that's very... interesting, and we will be in touch with the relevant parties very shortly. Watch this space.

Chorus keep telling us that its an 'internal issue', despite the fact it isn't. Our electrician friend came over today and said there were no faults with our lines. Our neighbor at 1/214B has also documented that their internet has been dropping our frequently, as has 1/214A and we all share the same phone line pole.

I'm getting very upset.
