no cheap HG659's? there are a heap at $1 reserve and a few more at the $20-25 mark
yeah but you have to wait around for them. Ive been extremely sick last few days, but havnt missed much on trademe.
is the HG659 really better than the NF8C? What about the old NF15ACV?
Id like one of the devices I can use an App to control zones, ie use N for certain devices AC for others etc. Asus seems to have really good products but their prices reflect that. Tplink AC1750 look good but have to wait for price like most things on Trademe.
Ill try to get an HG569 cheap, $15 an under but if these other routers are better and cost similar money should I not just go for one if it pops up?
I read on here there are issues with hg569 accessing DNS services like netflix, prime etc?
Just get the HG659 - you can set up unblocking services on it fine...

could have put up a WTB on here im sure someone would have one sitting around they would sell or give you for next to nothing.
I will If I get stuck. Just location and timing, where I want the $1 ones arent and the guys in Auck want $30 minimum some $80 even would you believe.
I think I will keep the NF4V if we move, although without AC and 5gHZ that come be hurting my VDSL in the future if the place we go to does not have fibre.
Some guy wants $50 for an NF8C
Another guy only wanted $20 for an NF15ACV, which I thought was a good buy? But hes dropped off for some reason.
Plenty on my watch list today and tomorrow, some good devices for $50 and a few Huaweis for $30.
Im wondering does the HG630 work to, meaning can I reconfigure it from Spark to BigPipe?
A new high, some guy wants $140 for his HG659 :-)
yes but its a very very low spec device.
get the hg659
very odd vodafone are selling them as the home hub etc etc.
i have a few hg659s lined up and a few asus as they have the features i like plus ill need a VDSL AC modem should I move, the NF4V, what a waste of money that was investing in future proofing myself haha. I guess nobody can tell the future.
i like the linksys cisco gear, perhaps because it is famililar from working with Cisco commercial routers/devices.
Not to sure what to think of the Netgear stuff.
Butt if the HG659 does the job here then it will probably suffice. it a shame I cant just have all wifi moving forward of the device, not quite ai radar or beaming but just anything backward or to the side is a brick wall, using all the devices energy facing forward would help.

No need for a "VDSL AC modem" if you move.
HG659 has a VDSL modem built in too.
If you buy another new router that doesn't have VDSL modem, you can just connect the NF4V to your new router.
yeah thats what im thinking.
wtf is a fritzbox lol.
$30.
im wary of spending money on a netcomm again. especially when linksys and asus are so easy to set up.
if i find a quality asus for $50 i might just splurge and be done with it. its not like dropping $300 on a new one.
otherwise my TM watch list is mostly Huaweis between $1 and $30, just timing. I could add a lot more but then Id have to deal with postage blah blah. I want to pick up tomorrow or Sunday at the latest.
should i bother with high gain aerial if cheap for the old notebook or just get a nano USB AC receiver?
A big ass dongle attached to my notebook defeats the purpose. Any suggestions on a quality nano AC adapater?
Also why do Asus routers hold their value so well compared to the likes of Netcomm. I notice even the entry level ac52u has features like AI Radar (beamforming)
I really like the look of the Google WiFi setup, as long as the real world performance is behind the aesthetics. It seems to get rood reviews
you really need to stop changing you mind.
you claim your on a budget and then your looking at $200+ devices. you wont fork out $30 for a device to try and actually identify what your issue is.
dont spend big $$ till you know what your problem is.
True but Im 100% sure not having 5Ghz and AC is the main cause of my wifi issues.
I have a brand new Linksys XAC1200 for $80, seriously $220 router for $80, should I nab it, I know a $30 HG659 is a good test, but ill have good resale value on the Linksys, what do you reckon?
advice has already been given as to what you should do.
take it or leave it
